If you mean the sixth sentence, then I'm not. I'm excusing myself from the party (getting a 30 minute penalty in the process) and they can quickly fill in the spot I left open. I'm not disconnecting in an attempt to avoid the penalty, I'm not going afk and I'm not demanding to be kicked. I'm simply removing myself from a disagreement.

Leaving a duty and incurring a penalty is not against the Terms of Service or listed in the prohibited activities (To my knowledge)

However, it is against the terms of service to leave or disconnect from the game in the event that things aren't going well (In order to attempt to 'bypass' the penalty and thus obstruct play) - By 'game' they are referring to you literally switching off the game whilst in-duty.

its not really the role itself. it comes down to a player. its been painfully obvious since the shadowbringers changes the skill levels of players. this is across all roles. some tanks are super good, some new to the class and don't know their kit, new to the game and trying to learn their role (or not new but trying to new)...or like the tank i ran into, bought their unreal clear but didn't know to put tank stance on. most mobs are pretty easy but theres some mobs that hit really hard so you have to watch that as well. so you have to learn to adapt to all scenerios that might be presented. however if people had their way here it wouldn't matter lol. they would take tank busters then whine they keep wiping because no tank. players tend to forget that some old mechanics can still hurt alot and one shot if its not a tank taking the hit.

Queueing up while not even knowing what any of your buttons do is griefing imo. But tanking in dungeons isnt really anything beyond that. Like I said, use aoe attacks and use mitigation. If people pull and just drag them into your aoes there's nothing you need to change. If they run around like headless chicken then they are dummies.

god are you all not intelligent. the reverse is true. you folks aren't cooperating with the full party either., just 3/4 people. so what if tank wants to pull. let him and get the run done. you don't get a speed bonus for completing the run anyways lol. it boggles the mind how this community was voted best community when its the most toxic when it comes to stuff like this.

Raven I'd like to ask you directly. If you are a tank in an instance and the entire party wants to go at a pace that you don't want to go at, for whatever reason, what do you personally do? The entire party is in agreement of a different pace then what you personally want. As the tank, what is your response?

Yes, a 1 off-basis would be difficult by any stretch. However, if the case is determined to be repeated across multiple duties and/or reports then the intent is pretty easy to derive, especially if this just so happens to 'inconveniently' fall on an unfavorable situation (e.g., a duty not going well), regardless of what your personal feelings on the matter just might be.

There is no 'luck' involved, just common sense when you determine a trend.

I have a question for you guys. Do you love this game? Do you feel like you're playing fantasy when you enter DF, or do you feel like you're going to work?

Tanks are not leaders. But in terms of squad building, they are definitely ahead. And it would be better if they pulled. When playing FF1 or later, didn't you put the healers in the back row and the tougher guys in the front?

I don't understand. I don't understand why people in this game play this game as a job. Why don't you play this game like fantasy? Why if I play heal or dps I stay behind the tank? Because it's cool. Because it's fantasy. MMORPG. Roleplay. The role of the tank is to protect the squad. The role of DPS and healers is to be behind the wall.

I feel like I'm the only one who plays this game as a game and not as a job.

Why, if I play a healer, then I feel like Aeris from ff7. I care about the health of the squad and this is important. Why do all healers have a dps mentality?


Forgive me if I sound harsh. And yes. Amendment. I quit playing a week ago. I don't feel like fantasy players. 90% of the people I meet don't feel like passionate people. The accumulation of animals, reputation, mounts and other collectibles is not RP. It's just a collection. I agree, this is also important. But I just feel empty in my soul while playing this game. All classes are dps. No one wants to go to the easy version of the boss just like that. For music and atmosphere. It must be a mount or collectible item.

Damn, I went whining again. I will be glad if you convince me and I will download this wonderful game again. But reading the forum and other channels, I see only the desire for dry numbers. As a paladin, I want to use healing. Feel important. This is bad? Want to play the game like an RPG, not like an M+ simulator from Warcraft. Where time really matters.

No, I'm not a troll. I am honest in my feelings for you. I want to play fantasy world with players. But reading this thread, it seems that this style of play is not welcome in MMOs. I want to be wrong.

Dead mobs dont deal damage. Live mobs deal full damage. I dont want party members to die so killing mobs faster is good actually.
