I definitely would have preferred Lupin to more cat people. I thought they looked awesome.



I would gladly give up all hats and hairstyles for that but I doubt most other players would so I can understand why they didn't go that direction.

Really like how this looks, wish it was a reality.
I think in a perfect world we would have gotten the 2 Hrothgar clans to be different like the Helions to remain ad they are, while the lost to be the Lupin instead (and of course both genders) this eould have given the people who want beast races a chance to have both a big bulky lion and a more slender/lithe wolf. But this would make it so hard to choose from, I would probably need 2 mains XD

Lupin could have different types of Headfur. And braids and stuff. But yeah I agree they shouldnt have hair, it would just be goofy.....unless they made them custom hairs....lol
And YES, I'm Also part of Team Bangaa. They could at least do differen earshapes and adornments like the Khajiit and Argonians on ESO.

I don't want them to have multiple animal types in the one race. It just adds to a "cosplaying as different animals" vibe and not a single coherent race/species.

This is true, which is why I believe its either a Mistranslation, or perhaps YoshiP misspoke. Giving equal room for both possibilities.
Because it makes No Sense for the Hrothgar to be a Feline Beast Race...just to have a Canine Counterpart. That wouldn't make it a Race, unless these would suddenly be shapeshifters.....at that point we might as well have a Were-Race like the Worgan or Dracthyr from WoW. And call them Druids

Actually, the faces for Hrothgar are based on different species of beasts (or beastmen in the case of Ronso face) in FF. We have one that looks like a Coeurl, one that looks like a Behemoth, one that looks like a Ronso, and the last one...I'm actually unsure of tbh.

A coeurl is still a cat, a "Ronso" does not exist as an independent creature here, and we have no reason to assume behemoth over cat. They are all broadly cats.

Different people value different things. For some people hats and hairstyles are very important. I barely touch them so I wouldn't mind giving them up for a really cool beast race.

Every day that passes, we get closer to female Hrothgar. I hope that they will show them at the NA fan fest since, unlike male Viera, we know for a fact that they are implementing them. The question remains as to when it will be revealed.
My bet is on the NA fan fest right around when they show the new job or along with the new job as the character to showcase it.

Just as a fun question to pass the time. What new job would be fit for a female Hrothgar? I think it would be funny and weirdly fitting if the job added with them was Puppet Master.

The new scouting job since they're the equivalent of Tauren rogues: they were always there, you just couldn't see them.
