Its worrisome that someone feels financially shackled to a game, over an ingame house.
Ive already said and agreed that the system isnt good, but neither is spending money on a game you dont enjoy/arnt playing.

Whats even more insane now, is that you just said "Yes, SE has Control over my Money" no amount of rationalization you create, or how many upvotes you get for it, THAT is absolute insanity.

But, at this point, fine.
Honestly, its your money and how you want to spend it at the end of the day.

That would suck ass, so in that scenario some people would prefer to just stay subbed and not have to deal with the consequences.

It's a designed FOMO system that preys on our inability to let go of progress and achievements. It's especially nasty because of how Housing is limited and it would mean they would need to switch whole servers to even have a chance at a house again.

We know it's FOMO, we know it's shit, we know we can let go. But we can't. Because it's a big loss in the way we play this game, especially knowing we'd like to come back after a few months. So that's 3 free months of sub for Yoshi.

Ive only played a couple MMOs, none of them Design-wise stuck with me except FFXIV. Part of it is the Cross-Bar Hotbar on Controller.
Bless & Tera and a Few others just dont function well on consoles, nor have good controller Layout.
I happily pay for this MMO because I enjoy it. I havent found a Free MMO worth my time or get any lasting enjoyment out of.
And the Boosts dont mean anything to me, I dont use them, I just played the game lol.

You're paying for the game for enjoyment. Just as other people are paying for XIV housing for enjoyment. They will pay for a feature of the game so that it doesn't get taken away. As you would continue paying a sub if you knew a feature you loved would be taken away.

Really isn't complicated.

Not at all, if I am done with a game or a Service, if I am not enjoying it or using it, I stop. FULL Stop.
Its just that simple, it Really isn't complicated.
And I wont rationalize or make excuses to keep paying money for something I dont enjoy, or am not playing/Using.
I will not pay for something I dont like or enjoy, not even for 1 thing. That 1 thing becomes irrelevant in the grand scheme, because Im not even playing the game / Using the Service.
There is a perfectly rational Argument that its dumb that your house will be gone if you take an extended break, I dont need to keep repeating that I know and understand, and agree the system is Garbage.
But for me, If Im not liking or enjoying or playing...goodbye house.

if you want to play on console give ESO a shot. super chill game if you just want to quest and immerse yourself in tamriel with friends or solo.

Id like to try and play GW2 more seriously, but I just need a much better PC. Im interested, I like it, just need a stronger computer.

Slightly off topic, but I think XIV has the second best housing system. EQ2's housing system will be my personal HotY every year. Everything can be scaled bigger or smaller (EVERYTHING). Fish tanks range from tabletop sized to public aquarium display size (think of an entire wall just being a fish tank). Guild/FC housing could have open courtyards depending on what teleports you set up in your main house. Your relic can be toggled into a hanging wall housing item. And that's just what I remember. I desperately wish there was another MMO that could beat EQ2's housing because I am not giving a penny to Daybreak.
