Just to give a list of things I've seen related to lalafell/pedophile accusations:

- twitter posts of people with thousands of followers saying to block nsfw lalafells, spam report their twitter profile, and witch hunt anyone else that's related to/friends with them to basically exile them and their followers. (ask if you want links, as I was flooded with these about 2-3 months ago as it's mainly a gpose community behavior)

- youtube video links spammed in game with f2p accounts that can freely get banned without care recording venue discord conversations and advertising it as venue owners being pedophiles (search Ava Ashley ff14 on youtube, look for a profile with 85 subs but the last 3 videos have 2-3k views)

- on a personal level, I got doxxed on discord by a group of trolls that went into various venue discords with thousands of members to spam my personal information with accusations of calling me a pedophile that I had to get in contact with Discord to take care of

- ^ also related to this was mass-banning from a lot of prominent venue discords on Crystal so I'm waking up to Mee6 ban messages calling me a pedophile

- the venues and friends I had made on JP and investments I made there, which at the time amounted to around 40mil gil I gave to the main venue I was connected at disappeared as I later found out there was a "red flag" on me with the owner telling all staff to not interact or talk to me at all, and same applied to other venues on the data center so months of relationships I made went down the drain overnight

- my old venue owner partner not only got shunned by part of their friends, but also come to find people out people were spreading said accusations inside of their FC's. Anyone that has experience dealing with GM's knows that you can't file tickets on behalf of other people and it needs to be in a public environment. So if people consider you a pedophile or accuse you of being a pedophile, they're free to spread that in tells, linkshells, free company's, etc. as much as they want and there's nothing you can do about it. "Making statements that will hurt the reputation of someone in public areas, such as Say and Shout, search comments, Party Finder, and online video or streaming services."

- ^ in addition to that, both of us got random hate tells/had our network/friends also attacked such as: "oh you're working with the pedophile", "they disgust me, you should be careful who you associate with". that's outside of staff-related issues when a venue owner gets called a pedo

- There are networks of people in the venue community that I was made aware of that will track people with accusations or proof against them of pedophilia to see who all you interact with at various venues so now you're being stalked.

That sounds like great advice to me. NSFW lalafell is disgusting. They have toddler like bodies what the hell possesses people to make nsfw with them? Dungeon of lalafell being sex victims, lalafell engaging in sex gossip, bragging about sex body counts, fantasizing and or being in romantic relationships with non-lalafell, oh and the official lore encyclopedia has a bit about one of the main villain characters of ShB that's a lalafell being head over heels wanting "to be seen as a real woman" by another person in the group sexually.

This. The problem with the person this comment is directed to is that they pretty clearly got called out and banned/rejected for doing weird pedo shit. Almost every post of theirs in this topic seems more like trying to re-litigate their rejection instead of contributing something relevant.

This... isn't ok. I'll apologize for the harsh words I used with you in earlier comments, because before I say what I'm about to say, the last thing I want is to be a part of the problem.

Final Fantasy XIV means a lot to me. I've been a Final Fantasy fan for many years, and joining the FFXIV community was actually one of the best decisions I've made. I've met some really great people, and had some really great experiences. Not to mention escaping into the world of FFXIV was sometimes a much needed distraction for a lot of the absolutely horrendous shit that was happening in my actual life.

HOWEVER;

If it is getting to the point where you are valuing the community/RP/whateverthefuck more than your actual needs, that is unhealthy. As an avid MMO player, I've seen too many people fall into a state where nothing else mattered, and the lines between problems that only existed in-game, and problems that existed in real life were extremely blurred, and people ended up getting hurt. Sometimes physically.

I'm not saying that you should put up with harassment, or that you shouldn't take a stand against it. People who are going great lengths to harass and harm (especially if it's leaking to IRL) should absolutely be held accountable. What I am saying is that your mental health and sanity should ALWAYS take precedence over anything else. Including this game. Including the community. Including the RP world. Including the venue community. With all due respect, based on some of your comments, it really feels like those lines are being blurred with you as well.

Which brings us back to the original topic, the chair. In the grand scheme of things, is it really worth all of this trouble? If people were going to be assholes to Lalafells, they were going to do it regardless of the chair's existence. The chair isn't the issue here.

Also this. Trying to substitute a game for your actual RL needs never ends well. I remember a friend of mine back in high school focused on EverQuest to the detriment of all else. He had to repeat his senior year. I tried doing the same thing in WoW several years later and it only made my mental health worse. Relying on an MMO instead of getting the proper help you need is *not* healthy.

1) I wasn't kicked out of anything. If you paid attention instead of skimming, I was on Aether, and the discords I mentioned were on Crystal, that I was in for research but didn't actually engage with because that wasn't my home. It was an example of how someone could take an event from one data center and share it to another without context and cause problems. The only Aether venue that actually removed me had a venue owner that got flack afterward when they made it public at my request that they had a policy of banning people from their venue off of accusations alone, and you'd have to prove yourself innocent after. I even had them apologize to me afterward in DM's when I showed them proof they banned me for no reason. I left because I knew 4+ owners on Aether that knew about malicious things in the community and they wanted to look away and did not care.

2) I HATE LALAFELL NSFW. *GRABS YOUR EAR, AND YANKS YOU CLOSE TO MAKE SURE YOU CAN HEAR ME* WHAT PART OF RESPECT DO PEOPLE MISS WHEN I'M SPEAKING. If I wanted to call out anything I thought was gross, I'd be going to every makeup mod artist on twitter and telling them that splashing a rainbow on their face is gross. But I know how to keep my mouth shut because my personal taste/opinion isn't important because at the end of the day, no matter how loud I could bark about it, they'd still exist with a large market of interest, same as lalafell. You speaking your opinion doesn't manifest any meaningful results besides harassment.

3) No, they cannot exclude people for any reason. In private settings, yes, but in public, no. Not from communities.

Outside of the unrealism of having to teach conversation tricks/corners to wall people into a violation to every random lalafell in the community, it's off-game exclusion that often I have a problem with. Most venues are actually easy to get banned once you know the tricks because they're rude and think they can ban anyone for any reason out of their venue and that's not the case. You need a reason for it, and it can't be just any reason such as one of the examples given: ""Don't join if your equipment is that bad/such a low item level." That isn't allowed. But most, will try to argue and end breaking "Expressions that unilaterally reject another person's opinion." because they don't know how to debate and be understanding of other people. They want to think their word is God when Square wants people to be understanding and have healthy conversations.

It's a FC house. It's on lodestone. The only people that often say gil is useless is people that don't have significant investment in the game and you check that on lodestone. They have no crafters or gatherers level'd past a handful at 50. They don't raid hardcore. They're not ranked up in Eureka, and barely mostly done with Bozja, but nowhere near enough to farm gil since they haven't hit Rank 25 yet. They only have 2 forum posts in 4 years and decided to log in to critique me and dismiss lalafell while claiming they have 50mil. They have 0 access to any of the big/main gil making methods. I would love to see someone grind out 50mil through deep dungeons, treasure maps, roulette's, maybe selling rp services at best for absolutely zero reason because all the gil they just farmed out over months is useless in their opinion. I don't see it. You don't just casually make 50mil. I can go into any MMO and play casually and claim in-game cash is pointless.
