Need advice: static imploding because of cheater.

The guy using zoomhacks should have cleared it with his raid leader before even using it. The leader is perfectly in the right to remove someone who was cheating, especially as activities like that are against the ToS.

To the OP: If you even read this far, best of luck. Next time make a set of rules that everyone agrees to adhere to before your group starts. Kindly ignore the people telling you how to run your own groups.

I'm telling them they did the right thing, and they should follow their own values rather than listening to an arbitrary group of people who want to impose their will on others. If you can't see the difference, I feel very sorry for you.

I agree at the end of the day the right decision was made, but during the course of this thread it was revealed that they didn't have written rules. So likely the removal took the group off-guard and interrupted any progress they were making. If there are boundaries that cannot be crossed, the rules should be set in advance with the group IMO.

Yes it's great to have values you follow, but they shouldn't be arbitrary or hidden when the time of 7 other people comes into consideration.

Rambling is fine. If I come off as aggressive I apologize. I've been told many times I have a sharp tone online and it is something I am actively trying to work on.

I personally run three different communities of ... 12, 18, and 140 people. I participate in several others, including a low-mid tier raid group as a member. I've seen plenty of organizations of different size fall apart over the course of my life. Most of the attitudes of 'Let someone cheat' are akin to people that traditionally I, or the people I have help run said communities, had to kick out for disruptive behavior. This is especially notable for cheaters and exploiters.

hmm, so "follow their own values", which in theory is what the other members of the static did, which was to leave the static, so they also did the "right" thing, and this situation is actually a good thing, because everyone followed their own values! So OP should be happy. But they're not.

It's very interesting that a community that was calling for the heads of cheaters in _UNNAMED are so vehemently against the same action a bit closer to home.
