Need advice: static imploding because of cheater.

I lead a raiding static, we are doing TOP and got to phase 3. Alt character for anonymity purposes

Recently a member streamed and showed himself using a zoomhack, so I swiftly and immediately kicked him from the static, reported him and blocked him.

Yet now after 3 days trying to find a replacement, some members of the static started arguing with me and 2 of them left.

They say that it was petty of me to eff over the progress of 6 other people just to get rid of a cheater.

They say that it's okay that he cheats because he kept to himself and never talked about it.

My other raiding friends also told me what I did was a really bad idea.

So now the group that was going so well is breaking apart and it's my fault, however I don't think I did anything wrong, cheating is forbidden by the ToS.

I think it's poor sportsmanship. Why have difficult content when you invalidate it immediately? But at the same time couldn't you have talked first? Seems a bit drastic to me.

You found out that not everyone thinks the same way you do. You should have talked about this with your group members before acting and asked them how they feel about it.

What other people do with their game is none of my business, and neither should it be yours, as much as they arent the smartest of the bunch by streaming it

Unlikely, the world first race is an entirely different scenario to SE than some random group that no one cares about outside of that group. The punishment the other members got (which they invited themselves by openly saying they are all equally guilty) was only to have their clears revoked and their totems discarded.

If the dude had no intention to publicize his cheating via streaming or any other social setting, you pretty much kicked a guy who was minding his own business and trying not to hold the static back. I would be pissed at you too for not only completely jumping the gun but not even discussing it with the other members of the static. ToS or not (which is basically loose guidelines at this point since Square doesn't do anything unless it goes viral), you should have considered the opinions of the other members before doing it and given the guy a chance to defend himself.

I swear it's like some people forget that there is literally no way to track what's on your PC through the game unless you publicize it yourself. In the spirit of r/AITA, YTA.
