Yep, I'm in agreement with all of this. People can do as they like, doesn't affect my day. Just wish more looked at it that way. You're pretty much correct in all of this.
I explained my own stance a few pages back, that while I dislike gameplay mods (and don't give a toss about aesthetic ones), I can simply choose not to play with those I find out are using them, and they can play with all the cheats and hacks they want. Their "achievements" will always be fake and hollow to me, but they probably don't feel the same way.
I'm not ever going to go after people in a serious out-for-blood manner for using them, but I'm definitely going to make fun of it.
And this is imo one of those VERY rare cases where the other side retorting in kind makes little to no sense to me. "Loool look at this person playing the game as intended!"
.......well, yes?
Sooooo .... apparently the OP definitely is not seeking advise, but self-validation and argument?
Making fun of people is a perfectly fair thing to do, I participated in making fun of unnamed myself. The memes created during that were a good time. If we make fun of other people we need to be prepared to get made fun of ourselves. You're pretty much correct in all of this.

I'm not convinced by yoship stating legal reasons. Profit loss seems the far more likely reason as to why there is no anti cheat in this game and I dont even mean that just in the way that all the people using any kind of mod will just stop playing. Anti cheat isnt a one and done thing, it's a constant arm's race. PVP focused games are constantly trying to push their anti cheat systems further because to them the image of cheating happening is highly damaging to their reputation. No one wants to play against cheaters. And yet that still isnt enough to stop cheating from happening. Current mods would be insanely easy to detect for any anti cheat software but that wouldnt stay that way.Shaming isn't right in the situation but you also can't expect everyone to live in a hive mind and follow the rules as well. Even more so if the rules in this situation aren't able to be monitored properly. We don't have that in real life, why would it exist in an online social setting? If there is a more convienent way to do things with little to no consequences for anyone unless they happen to be a well known streamer or group of people, then some will act on that. Getting mad at them for using a loophole that the devs have no interest to fix is attacking the wrong group of people in my opinion.
I know that there are some reasons relating to law as to why they're hesitant to install anti-cheat but I wouldn't be shocked if profit loss was also something they recognized as a possibility. Not just because those who rely on plugins (for both raiding and accessbility/further customization) but also the entire community that uses mods would be put into a position to consider abandoning ship. People literally make a living off selling mods for this game, it's not just a tiny minority who uses them.
SE has another way out however because people using mods isnt nearly as reputation damaging as it is for valorant for example. They can just simply look the other way for most of the time. In this regard yoship's statement this time seems very fatalistic and childish to me and I dont expect him to do the irrational act of stopping ultimates. SE's approach of 'dont ask, dont tell' isnt them being benevolent, it's them being realistic and levelheaded. It's beneficial for them to not be draconic on this.
This is very true. Anyone and everyone can make fun of everything tbh. Whether it makes sense to the subject could be argued to be irrelevant, it's one of those cases where I can see the humor in one side but not the other.
In the case of my quote in the post you then replied to (can't multuquote on phone, sorry) it seemed a lot more like the person was throwing mean-spirited shade rather than making fun though, seeming offended at the notion of being law-abiding and going off about headpats from Yoshi.
Whixh to me seemed more like shaming, though I freely admit I've misunderstood plenty of jokes in the past.
Except the original post clearly stated that the guy was streaming their progress.... so you are not pissed at her and supporting OP. NiceIf the dude had no intention to publicize his cheating via streaming or any other social setting, you pretty much kicked a guy who was minding his own business and trying not to hold the static back. I would be pissed at you too for not only completely jumping the gun but not even discussing it with the other members of the static. ToS or not (which is basically loose guidelines at this point since Square doesn't do anything unless it goes viral), you should have considered the opinions of the other members before doing it and given the guy a chance to defend himself.
I swear it's like some people forget that there is literally no way to track what's on your PC through the game unless you publicize it yourself. In the spirit of r/AITA, YTA.![]()
It is pretty simple, both sides are petty. If people want to use their plugins go for it, it is not for me I will kindly just pass on said groups. I am also not going to go around and police the action of others I do not have the head space for that. Let people do as they please, even if someone says my clear is moot because we later found out someone was using plugins or w/e I would simply shrug it off and call it a day. In my eyes my run was legit even if SE took my reward away, I cleared it once I can do it again, even still even if people say I did not do it, or SE took my rewards away they can never take away the fact I did indeed clear the fight.Im still waiting to hear why it is that this "much harder content" cant be cleared without all these mods and plugins
If raiders are as good as they say they are, if they are more skilled than other players as they keep claiming they are....then they should be able to clear this harder content WITHOUT addons.
Done here.
People harp too much on cheating and all this stuff in my opinion. This legit reminds me of what drew me out competitive pokemon, a handful of people going after those that gen mons and it just got salty and not a fun environment to be around. I did not even gen mon's, I just wanted to compete and do my very best. I do not care what my opponent does or what they did leading up to the match. I just worried about myself and my play.
That being said if someone does willfully break the ToS do not beepehands: when action gets taken against your account, or people do not align with what your doing. Same case for the OP do not be shocked your group was not to keen on losing out on how many hours of prog because of your own personal beliefs.
