It is starting to look like an annoying joke.
Because let's assume they one day bring everyone up to par. Every hairstyle fits, every headgear is adjusted. Will we still keep having crap like this where they do an event for everyone but us?
Considering how they're ungenderlocking stuff yet still making genderlocked items every patch, that propsect doesn't look favourable.

It is truly astounding to me that these races have been out for nearly four years and *new* items are still coming out that are incompatible with them!
It's also crazy that they release items like these gender locked when they're inevitably just going to remove the gender locked later on. I get that these things take time and effort to do, but like... you're not a small indie developer, just do it right and stop halfassing it.

The frustrating part I've seen with this is an excuse that's been floated around is that they can't make headgear or hair work on these races without reworking the models, but they KEEP making new models that are incompatible and adding to the load of things that would need to be redone to work with hte races, instead of doing some work now and not having such a heavy backlog of work when they eventually decide to fix these races. It doesn't give me a lot of hope for the future or the graphics update in 7.0 for these races. At this point SE should just give everyone with a viera or hroth character a free fantasia and name change and let them get off this ride and onto a race with full features. It is starting to look like an annoying joke.

Honestly have no idea at this point. It is starting to look like an annoying joke.

It's possible that they actually prepare these items super far in advance while they're making the entire expansion and then just slowly release them over the course of 2-3 years. That's really the only justification I can imagine and even that's a stretch.
The male outfit from this event is slightly altered repaint of existing outfit. Dunno about female, but also possible. As are a lot of outfits in general slight alterations of other, lesser known/used/old outfits. So yeah, for this specific case, I 100% believe there was just minimal resources put into new outfits, which is why they came out genderlocked. Assuming the hat is based off of some other existing hat, I 100% see them just repainting it/slapping accessory on top of it and calling it a day without really adding viera/hrothgar fitting version.Honestly have no idea at this point.

I hope that with the graphical update coming in 7.0 that they would make it possible for Hrothgar and Viera to be able to wear hats.
I think their priority with this races at the moment are hairstyles. Still, this doesn't excuse the fact that they could have done a different style of hat or a brand new one for this event, one that could have been equipped by all races.
The gender lock I think might be a time issue on their part, since in the files all male models, with the exception of Hrothgar and Roegadin, can equip the female outfit. And to my knowledge, all female models can equip the male one. So the gender lock might be a fairness issue + time restraints, as to not have all races but Hrothgar and male Roe be able to equip the outfit.

Yeah I think that unfortunately the glams are prepared well in advance, so this could explain that.
But nevertheless… those races are four years old ! It's really time they do something for them concerning the hat issue !
I played Viera for months and since I don't wear hats on every glams I do, it's always nice to have the same choice as anyone else. We still all pay the same sub price...

Which outfit are you thinking of?
Similar style isn't necessarily the same thing as starting from the same model, and in any case I don't think there is an existing outfit with that particular style.
They used to just outright recycle battle gear models, but I don't think that has been the case lately.

Is it? Which outfit?
