I doubt working on them was even a plan to begin with. Especially after the comment saying that the promised racial hairs was a "mistranslation". They were meant to be in the state they were released in, and actually in a lesser state without the minor headgear. The devs are probably more in the mindset of what they are doing now as going "above and beyond", since they are releasing updates for them at all. The seemingly minimal effort put into them is a courtesy.

it makes sense number-wise since so few people play hrothgar that they would only offer minor updates

I literally made the forum account to vent on this.

I get it. I get it. They didn't want to go back to old hats before shadowbringers and customize them. I get it. I'd be happy if they didn't want to do the retro work and focused on just making us feel a little included in the current expansion.

HOW COME EVERY SINGLE PATCH NEW GEAR IS ADDED WE CAN'T WEAR. There are ACHIEVEMENT HATS we can't wear. We just don't get that achievement award. New Island reward glam with patch 6.4? GUESS WHO CAN'T WEAR THE HAT?

I mean this as respectfully as possible, this game makes plenty of money, this is laziness because we allowed the devs to take a foot and they've stolen a mile. No cool new hairstyles either, not unique to viera/hroth at least. So what's the point?

The only new races they've added in the last 2 xpacks now can't wear hats. The only new race we are getting for 7.0 is Fem Hroth and I highly doubt any of this will be fixed either. It will be 3 xpacks of new models they can just forget the head slot for and we are supposed to thank them.

i am not convinced we'lll get femhroth and at the same time i'm not convinced we'll not be done dirty by it, too.

the only way i could see any justification for any of this is that the "graphical update" they keep dangling like a carrot above our heads will include all of the equipment being reworked, too, and thus they see no reason to give us a few hats now only to have to then - or, currently - redo it all

I really REALLY hope this is the case, but they made no mention that this was the case. I'm not inclined to believe they would do that without proof, especially considering how they said they were working on Hrothgar hairstyles for a couple of patches with no visual update until the Hrothgar ear fiasco 1-2 years later.

It's not the hats that need adjustment but the hairs themselves, they haven't really made any progress in this regard when they started adding the new hairs as they still came incomplete to these races, so they will either fix these hairs after they've been caught up with other races or.. never. It is quite baffling that for some random reason they decided to skip half the workflow of making hairs for 2 races in SHB even though there never was precedent for this. Either way their backlog is increasing with each new hair made available to them, biggest copium would be say that fem hroth will have these parts of the process not skipped and they'll slowly update all current hairs to work with head gear and only then hit the big enable button, but I would not hold my breath.

It's annoying and I will come back to the forums to bump this thread and remind everyon every single patch that this happens in. Every new content update has more and more content that is just gated from people who play viera or hroth and the devs only response is to ask that people pay real money to change races.
