Like you said, they're a very small fraction. And seeing as my social life in-game is absolutely thriving I'm doing just fine.

Nobody is asking you to, but you can't go around doing something that could stir up negativity and then turn around and wonder why all you see is negativity.

I'm absolutely certain that if I looked at a lot of these threads where I'm not present there's still gonna be a fair amount of negativity there regardless.

It means if you find yourself in a negative situation it changes how you view things. You're going to see negativity everywhere. Just like if you have a positive experience you're more likely to over look any negatives. As for the other: if you actively seek examples of negativity you're obviously going to find it.
