It’s the fact that people are genuinely offended by that information - ethnic person asking for ethnic hairstyles - is what’s causing my eyes to roll.

So you're using one instance to paint an entire group? There's always going to be bad apples in any group, but that's no excuse to paint everybody with the same brush.
