    To be fair, snakes and serpents have been called by a lot of names in the FF franchise. I think they just like using mythological names even if it doesn't follow the source material closely, if at all. And not just with serpents.

    I understand most MMOs reusing greek/norse icons, and west is fine with it because they long left paganism, but hindus are like 1 billion or so last living pagan culture alive today not some prehistoric dead culture. There are war happening, terror attacks for cartoons, who knows what happens for drawing Bahamut.

    Paganism still permeates our cultures, even today, in more ways than people realize. Buuut I'd rather not get into a conversation about religion and culture around here, so I will bow out now before it really takes a turn for the worse.
