I think the outrage to them cherrypicking and only porting hairstyles that cost IRL money first would have been enormous and I'm personally relieved they didn't do it. I get that folks want to use those hairs too but making base game and Modern Aesthetics obtainable through rewards available first was the right move. Anything else would have come across as downright predatory.

Making paid for hairstyles available for players who have purchased them is good, but it can look like they are only making them available first for further monetary gain. It's tricky. Of course, I think hairstyles in general are coming out too slow, but I digress.

I should clarify, I think hairstyles are coming out too slow for viera and hrothgar. If these hairstyles released at a faster pace, or more dropped at once each patch, then the debate of which hairstyles being made available first wouldn't matter as much.

100% this. The thing with paid hairstyles is that they should all be added because they have been paid for, you have to pay to get access to them. But adding only the Mog hairstyles would as Caro said, be predatory.
The best solution would be to add all the Mog hairstyles at once, but those to be beside some in-game ones.

My favorite racial exclusive is the singular hair I use on au ra. I would like to have that hairstyle available, although I don't know about making racial hairstyles non-exclusive.


They do not. Miqo'te ears are cut off now in hats, for example. Capes are constant, and the tail clipping is horrific. Outfit pieces are made for hyur.

Miqo'te aren't being catered to though. Miqo'te get their racial features removed, same with au ra. Of course viera and hrothgar have it worse, but still.

Hairstyles can make or break a face, ESPECIALLY in this game. With viera, they look great, but we need more variety, and options for sure.

I wouldn't mind some new racial hair for viera. Stuff that actually looks good. Its nice having some shared hairs though. When viera first came out, I was here on the forums hoping we would get access to unlockable or hairstyles we paid for in addition to the supposed promise of racial hairs.

Viera are a bishonen race so I'm surprised they gave them any facial hair at all, but dear God they are so bad, like literally 'grab fake eyelashes and glue them to your chin' bad.

Viera facial hair is disastrous. Why did they turn out so weird when the rest of the races have perfectly fine facial hair looking facial hair?
The facial hair on face 4 looks pretty okay but ONLY if you dye it very light/just straight up white, it looks less like it's painted on that way especially if you're already going with a fair skintone.

Am I excited for 2 more hairstyles? Yes, absolutely, thank you. 6 allegedly? Even better. Have they said anything about letting us wear more hats/helms? it seems annoying to look at the premium items and squint around to make sure it doesn't say "You can't wear the hat"

They've been silent on headgear all expansion, but there has been a visible (imo) attempt to resize more hats. Island Sanctuary is bringing a visor cap that functions on Viera and presumably Hrothgar, and that'll fill a nice niche.



I suspect if headgear integration happens it will be a gradual process after all the hairstyles are ported and maybe after female Hrothgar are added. We've just gotta wait to see what they say during the gap between 6.5 and 7.0. They're well aware of the problem, it's just not something they're actively working to rectify right now. In time it might become a project.

I'm wondering if the headgear integration in full is being saved for 7.0? That's when the graphical update is supposedly going to happen for a lot of races, so they may be attempting to bundle the hats in with that. This btw, as you can probably tell, is your hopium for the week.

Never a problem to have a little hope. My guess is that the headgear updates (if/when they come) will be similar to the gender lock removals where they'll be posted in batches every major patch rather than all at the same time. They do already have a lot of things to work on that I feel are more important: graphical update, female Hrothgar, finishing hairstyles namely. 7.0 is going to bring a lot of visual changes already, but I know they're aware of how much folks have requested this. To me it's not a matter of if, but rather when.
