I'm still salty they couldn't do even that, but I suspect it has something to do with not wanting to retroactively add claws to every glove/shoes that exposes the fingers - probably why Au Ra don't have scalier limbs either, as opposed to their concept art.

'If it's not a Hyur, it's a hassle to work with' - SE, probably

so apparently the only option that doesn't "stress the newbies" is either pressing 1211111111, or do nothing at all.

There are Hrothgar players who like the posture and would rather not have the same humanoid posture as all the other races. Knowing how much he disliked it I would really hope for a solution that keeps both parties happy rather than swapping from one thing some people don't like to another thing other people won't like.
The way they did this for Orcs on WoW back when Warlords of Draenor released is that they just added a new posture option in the CC and on their equivalent of the aesthetician. Having more choice is just better in my opinion, even if one of the choices are unpopular. Adding a new posture would mean adding a lot of animations though (unless they just paste in the Roegadyn animations). I also agree on the fact that the slouch looks weird sometimes because the animations are inconsistent with each other. No weapon drawn out? Slouchy as usual. But the instant you get your magic wand out? Boom your scoliosis is (temporarily) fixed.

There are so many things that go against the idea that Hrothgar needed a hunch because they're beast looking.

They're more civilized than half the clans of races that aren't Lala, Hyur or Elezen.
Most actual beast tribes, which are even more beastly, aren't that hunched, nor do they move their heads like chickens when they walk.
If Hrothgar can straighten their posture in combat stance they sure as hell can straighten outside of it.
The lack of digitigrade feet makes their unarmed stance look even more stupid. There is no anatomical reason why they would move like that.

Why should their posture have anything to do with their civilisation level?

For what it's worth, I may be in the minority here, but I think the hunched posture makes sense in combination with the cat head, and when I see people using the straighter poses, those look wrong to me.

Not to suggest that fanbases are a hivemind, but honestly it's true that people on the one hand demand flaws, "imperfectness", unique features that doesn't result in everyone looking like supermodels walking off the runway for a stint of combat, and when those flaws do get added - in the Hrothgar's case hunchback - they're unused, ignored or demanded to be removed.

Absolutely, the majority are absolutely fine with a few that could use some tweaks on every race. The single worst offender is the MGP ponytail and if I'm 100% honest I'm not even sure I'd use it even if it did have a perfectly proportioned forehead, but I'm sure others might.

I DO have one request for Viera character customization for 7.0: a new tab for ear decals. I absolutely adore the fawn spots and other patters Viera have in FFXII, and I would love the option to add these to my own Viera.

I'd love that as well, if they decoupled it from the highlight colour it'd be even more perfect.

You're not entirely wrong and I don't think they should put a lot of time or effort into adding perceived flaws just for the heck of it, but in the case of the Hrothgar hunchback the "flaw" isn't a choice or an option. You might see it less if it was, but the people that do like it would still have the option.

The problem with this is that the people demanding that are usually refering to scars or wrinkles. Hrothgar do have scars, but the beauty of those is that you can choose weather you like them or no, they are not forced upon you, unlike the hunch who I cannot toggle off if I don't like it.
Male Elezen have one of their head option to have an older looking character, but if some players don't like the look, there are 3 other options for them.

So while I agree that some people like imperfections cause it fits with their characters, others don't and would like a better or more pretty looking character. The name of the game is choice and on the subject of hunches for Hrothgar there is no choice. You either like it, tolerate it or set your 1 idle pose that keeps your back straight on the first sec you stop moving.

The more I look the more I find the ear decals are so adorable. Knowing how hard it seems to be to add new customization tabs I expect the only way we could ever get this added is as a separate ear choice with only one pattern, but that's completely by me. That's what they had to do with the Derplander stubble. I don't necessarily need Fran's exact pattern, these ones are simpler and just as cute.

Those hairs would be really nice to have too. I think I especially like the one on the right.

So what Modern Aesthetics do folks want to see ported to Viera next?

My top 3 most desired styles for 6.4 would have to be:

    1) Gyr Abanian Plait because there's zero way it won't look gorgeous on female Viera

    2) Minfilia from the cash shop because I own it from when I was a catgirl and I would like to have access to it again

    3) Windcaller. Not because I particularly like it or I think it will look good on Viera, but because the sooner it gets ported to bunnies the sooner we'll have a timeframe for how long it'll be before Hrothgar get it. My understanding is it's probably the number one most wanted hairstyle for Hrothgar players.

I also really like the classic Form and Function and I'm sure it will look beautiful on female Viera, but I think this one needs some extra editing and I hope they take their time with it. They'll need to address the braid because it lies directly where Viera ears are positioned. Of course, a lot of us probably won't care, but if they can add some extra hair strands like they did for the 2B style it would be preferable.
