FFXI is a different style from a different era. An MMO being a successor to XI would fail on the spot. Also, XI was never difficult, it was just insanely grindy.Yeah, hardly had to touch the mouse at all with FFXI. TBH I feel like they need to make another FF MMO as the spiritual successor to FFXI. This game doesn't really fit as a successor due to all the RPG elements trimmed out of it. FFXI was actually designed with a higher difficulty in mind to attempt encouraging players to interact with each other to work together and complete content. IMO the main thing hurting it these days is probably how dated it is since it was a PS2 era game.
