What time of day/night are you generally playing? For Crystal, we've generally had trains scattered across the entire day including some in the wee morning hours.I'm not one of the people griefing on this, but time zones do play a part of in this. On Aether data center, the hunt trains happen (in Pacific time): while I'm getting dressed and ready to go to work, before I get off of work, and super late at night. This means for west coast people, it's really difficult to impossible for us to participate in ANY of the trains, and for me, I think the server center travel and implementation of hunt trains really hurt hunting on our server. Previously you'd just join link shells and people would call out things as they saw then and people would come if they were online to kill them in a more organic, less structured way.
Since Stormblood I can count on one hand the number of times I've been able to participate in hunts. So if someone really loved hunting before and now is being excluded because other people have come in and dictated to us how we must do our hunts if we want to do them at all.... I don't condone it, but I can understand why people would feel like they just want to burn it all down for everyone.
We've asked the Centurio Hunt Discord if it would be possible to create a new role that would allow notifications of all NA data center trains, especially during off peak hours when it can be hard for players online to find a train. They're trying to figure out if they could come up with something that would reasonably well without requiring players to have to choose every NA data center role. If they can do it, it should help players like you find trains more easily. Data center travel in off peak hours is generally very quick (under 60 seconds total) so going cross data center for trains is viable. I wouldn't suggest doing it for S ranks.
Remember that no other players can dictate to you when you can hunt no matter how much they think they can. It's okay for them to ask politely but they don't have the right to tell you that you must stop. If they go overboard, please report it to the GMs.
Is it really the system that's flawed, or is the flaw in how players want to use it?
90% of the drama would disappear if a portion of the player community didn't act like everything needs to be scheduled around their convenience so they can make every kill.
I would say yes, yes it is a fairly flawed system when you consider that the older S-Ranks are designed with much much lower stats and levels in mind than the level of the average player participating. I don't think there is any excuse why this cannot be reworked to accommodate this fact. It at the very least requires some HP scaling factor or a better factor for that matter. What time of day/night are you generally playing? Regardless of whether the drama is, or is not present it is still a system that is ultimately in need of some polishing to accommodate for the fact.

Usually around 6/7 PM Pacific is when I get on. One of my FC mates is an avid hunter, and she tried her best to tell me when the hunts happen so I can participate, but the ones she told me about were at 7am my time or 3pm (or maybe it was 4pm) and another I think around 2am. All times that weren't really viable for those of us on the West Coast. I've done a couple A-ranks when I see them with friends, but more the problem is the unwillingness of others to do the hunts outside of those times because they keep saying "leave them for the train"What time of day/night are you generally playing? There's always the option of scouting and conducting a train yourself if there's no one else doing it on your world. It would just depend on when the last train had been run. If you're finding Rank As up in the Endwalker and Shadowbringers zones, chances are good they're up or close to spawning in the other zones as well.Usually around 6/7 PM Pacific is when I get on.
