What I personally wouldn't be fine with would be if you suddenly turned around and talked crap about people who did complain.

I think Brian is making the decision not because of something bad about XIV specifically, but because it's no longer compatible with his life direction. He's got a family and other hobbies, and just doesn't have enough time to juggle multiple MMOs. (So he's going with New World.) Life gets in the way, and sometimes you can fall out of love with a game.

I had to dial down FFXI tremendously when I started graduate school in 2011. Ultimately I ended up losing touch with my hardcore raiding guilds/linkshells in endgame and getting behind. I had to quit my Empyrean harp because 1500 heavy metal plates was absurd. I played 1.0 a bit with a friend, and by the time ARR came out, I realized I no longer loved FFXI and it was time to say goodbye to that game.

I still remain friends with people who played XI with me. Just because my time in that game world had drawn to a close didn't mean our friendships had to end. And a few of them even joined me in XIV.

The way you phrased it was that because you yourself didn't feel like you had any reason to complain, the people who did either canned it or left the game. To me it just felt like you weren't understanding why people were complaining to begin with, or at least devalue why it was happening.

Yee I figured as much. Besides, I'm not accusing you or anything. I just pointed out, based on your profile image, that you were playing a Hyur, easily the one race with the least amount of "complaints".

Overall tho, not every feedback that's negative is a complaint. Sometimes it's a simple "don't do this" or "take another route".

Because that wasn't "omg I see no problem with the game" --> "Shut up white knight".

It was "The game has been having issues quite often as of late, hence why people complain. People need to allow them to acknowledge this and not hide behind the game development's history" --> "You're complaining. Those aren't real things to complain about. You have no positive opinion of the game whatsoever." Didn't I reply to VelKallor a while ago that there were people going around telling others to be fine with the game and shutting down every instance of complaint and feedback? In fact, that's where I used those expressions. Because you are using words and expressions that sound rather similar to what I said, but again taken out of context. If that's the case, I'd like to clarify. That was just a torrent of misunderstandings, and if that's where you got it from, then I reiterate: that's not the message I was trying to pass through, and I've clarified it multiple times. And yes, I am assuming once again, so if that wasn't where you got that from, then feel free to dismiss this. It just sounded similar, so I'd like to clarify it just in case.

Because here's the thing. You just went for the few things I said that were disconnected from the argument I made. You didn't mention anything else about what I said. There's zero substance to this. Was the only thing you draw out of what I said "victim card"?

Honestly it's sad that I feel the same way. I've "only" been playing for 4 years, but already feel like the game has been stale for some time. I don't know how people who has been playing since 2.0 manage to do it. Even with how they messed up jobs design in ShB, I still had hope that it'll get better. But turns out I'm a fool for hoping that. People has been asking for healer overhaul, but the response to it is "go play Ultimate".
We wait for nearly a YEAR before finally get relic, and the first step is piss easy. I would've more okay with it if it doesn't take them months before starting relic. But nope, that's not what happen, and for me who has been waiting for relic, this feels such a let down. Not to mention that we also won't get exploration zone.

Sorry for rambling, I can't really express how disappointed I'm with the state of the game right now.
