Reality is harsh. If someone who actually contributes to the community (like MTQ) leaves and has something to say, I might take notice. Glancing at some commentary on this Brian person, he just sounds like another attention whore.

When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.
Fluid like water. Smooth like silk. Pepperoni like pizza.
<insert TES: Oblivion music here>
He did contribute to the community. His guides to playing FFXIV with a controller are considered to be very well done and popular FFXIV content creators frequently refer their viewers to those guides when asked about playing with a controller.
In the end he's another content creator like any other. Some are going to like the style, others aren't. Some will agree with his opinions, others won't.
I was one who didn't like the Work to Game style (it wasn't just him, he has a partner for Work to Game) but I still see it as a loss to the community.

And no one cares about your callous opinion either. See how that works?
The point is, while it is relatively small, he does have an audience and a bit of influence and if he convinces even one more person to quit it is one less sub for FFXIV and that shouldn't be celebrated.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
You say that, yet here you are telling me this. And it clearly takes one to know one, as your opinion is just as callous, if not worse.And no one cares about your callous opinion either. See how that works?

When I decide to go, I'm not going to make a thing of it. I'm sure you will though.
Honestly, I'm just matching energy in my responses. I'm quite easy to talk to when you're not being callous yourself.

Listen up to what? Content creators are more prone to burnout than anyone else. They are the last group of people I would listen to.
