I'm glad we got our ears fixed... Even though it's not so much a fix and more just allowing them to show which honestly wasn't difficult when modders had it working in like an hour on day 1.

That said, I'm glad they listened. Although this doesn't really make me feel -good- it does at least satisfy me a bit. So, thank you for listening Square. My only other request would be to make it so we can wear the behemoth helm and get one more masculine-adjacent hairstyle, really.

I was just looking at new Rinascita sets and headpieces and I thought of something.
Do you guys think the dev team could swap the way headpieces with a /visor feature work; or maybe even add a new feature allowing both ways to work simultaneously
what I mean about that is toggling headpiece and immobile visor; that way Viera and Hrothgar could at least wear that sublime Venetian mask.

No, simply put they would have to rework the hat system and ontop of that adjust all hat models with visor that's infinitely more work than just giving the hairs ( viera male + female + hrothgar is around 111 ) the missing component ( parts getting hidden and deformed ) necessary to enable hats on viera, plus the occasional hat model that might need adjustment.

they don't have to. The only thing they need is work. If a bunch of game design students can make helmets work, with hair, with visors, and without changing any systems, a bunch of seasoned designers can.

But yeah, while I like the idea in general, I feel like that would be a complete mess in XIV. Can you imagine the clipping? lol. SE doesn't have it in them to do that properly.

Honestly I think the clipping would be minimal. There is already hair models that go down the front pretty far, and the back ears wouldn't be much worse that ponytails already are. /shrug

Can we stop with cutting off racial features, especially if you are charging $22, that's enough to make me not want it. I do not like the normalization of removing racial features! I literally had to look at it again - close up - to even realize that was a viera.

Seriously? Couldn't they make a unique model for viera, especially if they are going to charge actual money for it? Removing ears is a nice little "fix", but this is normalization that I would really, really like to not see. As I said in my quoted post, I didn't even realize it was a viera until I saw a larger version of the image!

I didn't know it was a Viera until I read the second bit, I had to double take!
I'm not impressed by them removing racial features, it's just unnecessary and I know Square Enix can do so much better than this. Are the Hrothgar able to wear this too? If so, what does it look like on them?
