It's so ironic that people against the idea will die on the hill that mages should not wear heavy armor, and yet, we have a mage set called, straightforwardly, Radiant Mail of Casting. Afaik mail armor in classic RPGs is way out of a wizard's league. And guess what, it does look like heavy armor in game, with some cloth on top of it.

If those people are so concerned with visual purity of the "ridiculousness" of a mage in plate burning their retinas... Why they are even playing this game? Because right now people can look even worse with a wild combination of the cosmetic items available. And by that I don't mean just 2 or 3 outliers. There are tons of cosmetic items in the game with a silly (debatable) aspect, many easily accessible.

The only single reason I could understand from people against the ethos of this thread is that they would rather have development resources destined to do something else. Understandable, but that wouldn't stop the movement anyway.
