Orcus is an Enshrouded Garlean Hyur, it doesn't look like Zero's monster form, it's a completely different model.
There's visual similarities like the red arm and black hoodie, but i wouldn't say they are the same asset.
Ouch, you're right. Totally revealed something I shouldn't have there. Too bad, the mods don't exist here and they can't even pinpoint WHAT. Nyahaha! ;3
Still prefer new Zero, though. Could be better, but leagues better than the old form. Maybe she ought to have stayed a villain though instead if yet another new friend, I dunno. I'm sure I'll think of something.

Except... Dissidia kind of is canon? (insomuch as the original Dissidia is basically a loose prequel to the very first FF, despite the presence of characters from other FF games - the rest just have excuse plots to explain why you can have Cloud beat up Tidus for instance or Vaan be utterly destroyed by Shantotto with fire spells).
Really, hate it all you like, it doesn't change the fact that FFXIV references and celebrates the entire series, and that is by design, and always will (and pretty much every FF game has referenced each other anyway, FFIX and XIV just have the most references to the rest of the series out of the lot).
Emet's crystal is a bit different if I remember right. It holds Azem's ability to summon allies and friends but I don't think it actually has any power in it(or Azem's memories unlike the other constellation crystals because this crystal was made in secret by Emet). The crystal is merely a tool and the power itself we use to invoke the crystal comes from the WoL character. We've been using the tiny little crystal Emet Selch made for us a ton of time. I think her tracker crystal made 12 000 can handle some use.
But that don't mean i want to see that thing being pulled out at every minor inconvenience, i didn't know until 6.2 that it was an utility knife.
At least that's how I understood it.
All I can say is that I'm glad I don't play this game because of the story lmao
Oh, that makes more senses than how i thought it worked.Emet's crystal is a bit different if I remember right. After Hydaelyn's magick disappeared from the crystal in Ultima Thule, i took it as meaning that magick power the crystal.
But if it worked that way, the crystal would be empty since a long time ago.
They've done this since ARR. Maybe 1.0 as well but I only played some beta and about a month of that one so I didn't get far into things. If you Google, you can find websites that have pages and pages and pages of references to other Final Fantasy games. It's also a trait of the series in general. Later games make homages to other games, there's a Cid in all of them, etc.
Well Hydaelyn's crystal is a bit different from the one Emet created. Only two things should really happen with the tracking crystal.
It should potentially be out of magick(Hydaelyn fades away and Zenos eventually takes the rest of the Mother Crystal's magic) - which it's not, or it could have residual magicks left in it but that should eventually run out? I have no idea how it would work but I do think it's fair to say that it's running on left over magicks without Hydaelyn or the Mother Crystal. The actual Crystals of Light which our character received could be attuned to us and keep working for that reason(I don't remember if the Crystals that the WoL from the first ever stopped working though), but this tracking crystal should probably eventually run out.
A few years ago someone would probably say the game isn't for you then.
Story is not the make it break it for me either though. I genuinely like the gameplay and customization. I'd like more of that content. Quality though.![]()

Dissidia is canon, but only to itself. Whatever is canon for Dissidia is not canon for XIV, else I'd expect Y'shtola and Zenos to be referencing their respective stints in Materia and Spiritus' realms far more often in the game than they do (that is to say, not at all). Eitherys is no more one of the worlds Cosmos or whichever good deity it was who mentioned that plot point any more than Midgar is one of the Source's shards or Squall is one of the Warrior of Light's Sundered Reflections.Except... Bold of you to assume they don't still do that. No, "well, why don't you get off MY MMO and play something else if you hate it so much you Ascian lover you!" gets practically spouted somewhere on these forums damn well near daily.
