Market prohibited furnishings can still be sold, and people do love their rare/exclusive items. So that would take us back to people getting a free house and now even profiting off of it. Can you imagine if SE sets it up this way and doesn't limit it to a one-time donation/purchase? That seems like a very SE thing to do. lol.
I think the best case would be that the NPC sells to whomever is wanting to pay the price, regardless if they were initially blocked out of the house or not.
