    What a vicious circle argument you are making up yourselves. So they pay - then they get more decor that really is small, inconsequential to the bigger picture and frankly, such a small token of an apology it's really questionable to even make it worth it.
    But again, if the pictures are only available to those that were affected by the bug, they can easily turn around and sell those paintings for more than the cost of the house. Market prohibited furnishings can still be sold, and people do love their rare/exclusive items. So that would take us back to people getting a free house and now even profiting off of it. Can you imagine if SE sets it up this way and doesn't limit it to a one-time donation/purchase? That seems like a very SE thing to do. lol.

    I think the best case would be that the NPC sells to whomever is wanting to pay the price, regardless if they were initially blocked out of the house or not.

    Or this stays an apology and this only goes to the people affected, which it is, leave it be.
