I can tolerate having to go through an extra step to get into Firmament, so this doesn't bug me too much.
I think it's probably more of a technical issue then an oversight personally.

How did you get to Eureka?Me wanting what is by now considered the standard for teleporting to one's "home" to be applied equally and fairly is not "lazy." I refuse to let the standards slip. It is 100% in the player's interest for there to be teleportation access to the island from the beginning.

Plot twist, there is a giant aetheryte to excavate from your island.
What will go wrong is they have made too many stupid boneheaded decisions. No direct teleport isn't the biggest of them.

It would make sense to first only get there by boat and Lower La Noscea is the closest dock..
And later, through upgrading the island and increasing your rank, you can build an Aetheryte so everyone with access and the owner itself of course can teleport there. I hope they consider it for later upgrades of the feature because I think they would've mentioned it if it was already part of the upgrading process.
It's most likely a technical reason. I mean we're talking about everyone having their own island. That means they would need to set a different teleport for everyone individually. There's no instance I can think of where you can teleport straight to a personal area.

they know people will storm the island, like thousands of people will go there in an instant and the server can't keep up with it.
