RIP SAM - no reverts planned for 6.2

That is true they can potentially add the explanations to the changes in 6.2 patch notes. Key word = Can.

Rather they will? is another uncertainty. With how much Goodwill they shaved away from plenty of us? I won't hold my breath on it. My expectation of it now? is them to shrug it off like the change never even happened, not giving any justification nor explanations to the 6.1 changes. Instead they will explain the QOL Enpi change on how amazing it is, which it is - and simultaneously dodge the negative feedback bullet.

Time will tell, I could be wrong who knows. Just that the Dev's and SE made me have that expectation now, setting the bar at an all time low. Hopefully I am wrong, hopefully...

I mean it took 5 years for living dead changes. And even after 5 years healer are still mega boring and bland. This trusting and keep waiting mentality is not working when the one you trust doesn’t give a fluff about it. They asked for feedback for samurai changes and we gave it. So why don’t they say anything about that. There is so little communication between square and the fan base it’s insane.

I liked your post, as i almost completley agree with you. We shouldnt have to wait so long.
I never took my willingness, to wait on further sam design as an argument in favor of slow dev response time or poor communication. That is something people inserted into my intend and particular to how i feel about sam.
So ill repeatit for the third time : I think grievances are valid. I also think tone matters.

I particularly like the comments regarding where healers have been at for years, its a crying shame.

I would support fight design including more random damage and nechanics, to make healing more engaging, less scripted. But opinions are divided on that idea.

The guy making this thread, completely went over board and played developer mind reader, making up things nobody actually said during the live stream.

You think Sam is "ruined" without Kaiten ? That sucks, really, I'm sorry for you and I think anyone's grievances are valid.

What isnt valid, is flying off the handle, losing your cool. Am I supposed to care that hes quitting the entire game over one skill ?
Because if he actually is and this isnt just empty whinging for attention, he cannot actually like the game all that much to begin with.

There are plenty of games I have left that I legitimately liked, but changes were enough to make me quit. Overwatch changed roadhog so many times that his playstyle completely changed. I stopped playing eventually after getting fed up with it. WoW I stopped playing when Legion came out because I disliked the ability purges they did. SWTOR I quit for awhile because they completely changed the gearing system from a really good system to a pure rng system while also removing pvp gear but making gear still matter in pvp. They fixed that later on and I started playing again for a bit because I genuinely loved swtor. Later in 7.0 they did an ability purge and removed/limited baseline abilities to classes that were iconic skills those classes have had since launch of the game. Guess what I no longer play?

People leaving over changes that ruin a game for them is not hyperbole, especially when the developers outright ignore you. The devs do a fairly good job with the game and the community outreach with their live letters, but they also ignore players way too often on key issues. I'd say people quitting over severe changes love the game more than the casuals that mock them like you. I don't like quitting games that I legitimately enjoyed for years and were passionate about, but there comes a point when changes are not acceptable and its enough to ruin the enjoyment of a game its time to leave, especially when its outright ignored by the devs.

Honestly, the only reason I'm still playing is because I still have fun raiding with my static, but the changes to SAM are bad enough that I don't want to play SAM in 6.2. I'm going to go out of my comfort zone and raid with BLM, something I've never done.

I wish i could like this more. This has been one of my grievous with this. If the devs make changes, they should explain why they do it. It can help calm down a portion of the community.

I mean, that requires the developers to not make flimsy ass explanations that can be picked apart quite literally within seconds by anyone with a modicum of experience. Or ones that are so out of touch that it beggars belief that it's actually an official statement.
