Bro TLOU2 is rated higher than XIV on Metacritic. Or more shockingly, Animal Crossing New Horizons is above Half-Life 2, Deus Ex Human Revolution or Bayonetta. Critics are paid and not the argument you think they are.

Coz the actual main story - the "Hildibrand Quest Line" is not MSQ, but instead we forced to some long mid-rated netflix show, with characters I lost track of, coz simply dont care.

If seriously, I think problem with "friends catch up mechanics" where new players/returners has to do a long story, in order to catch up with friends (FC memebers, other players they meet around), or buy MSQ boost, while their friends do cool content, but without them. And speed run and skip every cut scene just makes it annoying routine :C

It was not a problem in ARR/HW, maybe SB, but now story is super long.
Plus some people, who finds MSQ not interesting, sees MSQ as grind, and some people does not enjoy the grind, and go complain about it.

Then what they should do is instead of having tons of brain dead filler crap they should just pause the main story. Make the next quest available at level x sort of thing. Then after the climax as you call it. Players can unwind in there own ways rather than go from slayer of gods to squisher of bugs eating our crops.. that stuff feels like am absolute chore which is why it gets so much hate.
or just make it all side quests instead of main quests.

They did that when ARR was new. People then complained about having to grind out dungeons/side quests to get to the next level of the MSQ. Filler MSQ quests that change the pace a bit are perfectly fine as they are. Even books do this where there is a break in the pace of the story and shift gears for a little bit. This isn't something unique to FFXIV.

What are you on about? FFXIV's gearing systems is probably the most casual gear progression in any major MMO.

At this point eonder if they could just flat out make the story optional? Like hitting lv cap automatically unlocks raids, side content, and such... But then again they'd prolly make leveling daunting and slow and make story quest give tons on exp to incentivize them...

Ive said it before, this forum is a small fraction of a fraction of a fraction of 1% of the playerbase, and as such does not represent the millions who play...you dont speak for them you dont speak for me.

Not knowing that there's been plenty of "Hey, Endwalker was kinda meh" outside the forums and on reddit and other discussion boards. You won't see it on r/XIV because that forum is heavily moderated too. It received rave reviews by journalists paid to review games like this. The majority don't even play the game to completion IIRC. Of course they wouldn't want to make big daddy SE mad about calling the story bad, especially when it's the biggest game of the company. Big gaming journalists hardly take risks.

I'd love for you to explain "it's only you" - when that in itself is entirely false by the way - comment then.
