WHM has always been the "easy, straightforward" healer. HP goes down, Lily (or the dreaded Medica II) goes brr. Job done, pat on the back.
SGE isn't far behind SCH and even surpasses it on 2 bosses except for the absolute top players but to surpass it you need to work more for the few % difference - beacon healing but dealing with fairy placement reset after Seraph/ Dissipation, spending a GCD on summoning it after death, AF heals being a dps loss, SS being 100 potency stronger but ground-targeted, only Broil slides & Swift as dps-neutral mobility, delay when using fairy skills back to back, flexible Aetherpact but comes with two weaves (unless you need to use a fairy skill to cancel it anyway) and delay, dps partly dependant on party burst alignment.

And AST ... let's not even start.
AST is strong but a huge mess of unsatisfying bloat with buttons like glorified Lucid Dream, split-for-no-reason Draw/ Play & MA & Crown Play and "feels bad" MA and we're back again to having to use LS during burst like before LS change in ShB. Now AST is the least mobile healer because SCH at least has Ruin II even if it's a dps loss.
AST just traded actual difficulty and game knowledge in 5.0 with artificial burst window APM and called it a day and it shows, the class feels absolutely dreadful to play

SGE feels like a fluid SCH but also like you said loses a lot of what makes SCH somehow still the most interesting healer by a country mile even though it’s been gutted like 5 times over at this point, I don’t like modern healers as an entire design but SGE and SCH compliment each other well as the “introduction fluid shield healer and the developed complex shield healer”, the regen healers are just a mess
