I just try to pay attention when SE shares information about things that interest me, and will sometimes keep track of specific SE references that I can link for other players if they have related questions.

I know Island sanctuary isn't what most of us are looking for (at least NA/EU, I suspect JP has been looking forward to it) but there's still a chance it's something we can enjoy for what it is and not what we want it to be.

Why play Stardew when you have it rolled into XIV? Why spend time (and maybe money) on some other idle game?

Why play a half-assed version in some other game when you could get the real thing where the entire focus was what you or someone else might be after?

And personally, i'd rather raise my own chocobo without having to paying exorbitant prices to some random greedy scumbag.

Being too insular would be disappointing but overall I'm looking forward to be it, and am also hoping it's a concept they will actively grow. Such that we can see it evolve into the dreams many are hoping FFXIV had, I can see some relatively quick short term goals to move on that with more difficult tasks lined up for later.

Like getting core housing features into the system (besides the housing decorating), so like menders and such. Homely pre-fabs like inn rooms. Later apartment that you can place like a cottage, then upgrade that, outdoor furnishing, etc.

I think I'll have fun at the gates, but I believe / hope it'll have big goals and of course not be a hyper insular farm game where you grow stuff for the purpose of nothing.

Just play stardew valley, it's hot that deep

and again I say, there's a GOOD Majority of players who love to do things with their WoLs. Can you play Stardew Valley with your FFXIV WoL?

It's a side activity for people who like Stardew Valley. Would not expect nothing more than that.

That's really the best hope to have about it, because i love farming/life simulators like Harvest moon, Rune Factory, Stardew, Story of Seasons, My Time At series.

That sounds more and more like Garrisons from WoW. Hopefully it stays as side content but the back of my mind has this dark thought that it might be tied to the relic line/Hildibrand story. I'm pretty sure it's not but I keep thinking that the pieces ARE there, lol.
