Of course they are, but that 'responsibility' doesn't equate to any legal or financial repercussions like you keep trying to claim.

FFXIV being a teen rated game is only within the scope of the playable content that SE developed. It has nothing to do with what players choose to do within the game itself. Neither does it impose any hinderance, legal or otherwise, that would stop two consenting adults from engaging in lascivious behavior in private channels in the game.

The only thing at stake is the reputation of SE and the game. With regards to that, Yoshi P has come out and stated in a prior live letter that anything done within the game between two consenting adults is not their business so long as it's done in private channels. If it's done in public, or not all parties involved consenting (keep in mind that minors cannot consent), then report it if you see it and SE will take action against the offender/s if they are violating SE's policies. Or if the issue is egregious enough to run foul of real life law, they'll get law enforcement involved.

I get it, you don't like ERP. That's fine, you're entitled to your opinion. But your opinion is just that, an opinion. You can be upset about it as much as you want, but that won't change the fact that ERP is considered acceptable under specific circumstances. If it happens outside of those circumstances, then report it. Otherwise, it's simply just none of your business and you should ignore it.

Hence why people are punished for ERP in game when reported, two adults are fine but SE does not know which players are adults and minors. So they have to take action against those reported regardless of age.

Come on now, that's not what they asked proof of. They were specifically asking for proof about SE actioning any and all reports of ERP ingame, that's what they quoted you on. You instead just point to a section of US legal code that is tangentially related to the discussion but does nothing to actually back up your claim.

You're clearly either arguing in bad faith, or just don't have a sufficient enough grasp of how law and legal liability works. I'd be tempted to bet on both though.

ok I know nothing of law but in engaging erp and not being able to confidently confirm the other persons age is just pure stupidity. Would you walk into pitch black room with no light cause a voice in the room said it was safe? I sure as hell would not.

That comparison is so far off base...like...wut? Again like I said before, take your crusade to the game itself. Report erp private and public when you see it taking place or advertised. I guarantee you your account will be banned before any or most of the people you report

Though to expand on this, if you're a parent and legitimately concerned about your kids being engaged by adults in a sexual manner, then I would hope that you're much more concerned with any involvement they might have on social media. I assure you that Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, and Discord are infinitely more dangerous with regards to child predators than FF has or will ever be.

Do you have proof of this, because I don't see this to be the case at all from what has been previous communicated by SE. This also doesn't align with the way laws work in most jurisdictions, you need some form of reasonable proof communicated to SE for there to be any liability if they failed to act upon it. That said, those who engage in ERP should be mindful that someone they might engage in these activities with could be underage, in which case they could be opening themselves up to some serious real life legal repercussions.
