I actually do.. but I quit shortly after it went f2p.

I don't remember anyone caring about "social hubs" in that game though, but it could have been a thing after I left. I remember my wildstar house though, and how people still hung out in the main cities. I also play GW2 where everyone has an instance with stuff to do in it as well.. and people still fill the main cities.

I just don't think absolutely everyone will desert the hubs if they still offer that social experience, those dudes with their glowy "legend" weapons aren't going to afk in their house.. no point if nobody is going to see their shiny weapons. The line of naked dancing people on the benches in limsa last night? Could have done it in someone's house.. did NOT.

Besides, apartments already exist for those who want to self-isolate anyway.
No, I can visit and admire some ones decorated apartment and make a comment in the guest book, how is that isolating? from what Im hearing about instance housing you can't even visit and admire someone else's handywork. I don't like that.

Why wouldn't you be able to? I'm pretty sure the idea is that you can invite people or let people in your friends list teleport there just like current housing and apartments. I can visit my friends' apartments at any time without needing them to even invite me from the friends list. Why would it be any different?

Edit: They can have a list with all instanced houses that are open for visitors so you can visit any house like you would be able to in wards. I get that its not the same but we can't have infinite wards so this is the next best option.

Edit: Also what's up with the Strawman argument of the next poster? ''ITS NOT EveRy OnE, sEe ItS not EvErYoNe!!!! its less BuT noT absolutely EveRyonE!!! therefore you're wrong seee!!!"

They did perform outside because that's where most people currently are right now.. not when there is instant housing.. geeze its not rocket science.

    Lmao my Gosh.
People aren't going to up and abandon Limsa or Ul'Dah (if you're in Balmung) just because instanced housing becomes a thing. Your comparison to SWTOR is also flawed because Fleet is still very much alive and well (the amount of political talk on there is honestly bad) and Nar Shaddaa is still kicking for the spicier side of the game. Giving people housing doesn't equal death of public hubs or it would have murdered it already with what we do have. Wouldn't neighborhoods just be constantly populated instead of people reporting that their ward is a dead zone and neighbors non-existant?

To OP's questions: Absolutely yes, if it would guarantee every FC and every person gets a house if they can afford it, then yes.

I always thought instanced housing as a better idea. It opens a lot of possibilities we don't have right now. It could possibly allow you to change the look of your house's enviroment at will without having to move neighborhoods (thinking housing glamours/walls but for the yard, sky, and background) making your instanced house look like Ishgard one day then Ul'dah the next. Overall I feel instanced housing would be profoundly better. There is no way for them to continue to sustain the current system by adding more and more wards. The wards will continue to be bought by shell FCs (its sad that almost every server has wards with one FC that bought the whole thing) while people who have been wanting a house for years can't get one. Instanced housing would ensure there is a limit of 1 per character, no more silly loop holes.

Neighborhoods are a nice idea but it's a failed experiment in my opinion. Very few people actually hang out in the neighborhoods. I've had houses ( both FC and Personal ) since ARR, the neighborhoods are always dead unless there is an RP event going on in one of the houses in your ward.

Every game i've played with instanced housing, you can still visit people's houses. I don't know where you get the idea you wouldn't be able to.

Any moment now it will be revealed that WHM is cheating on SCH with MNK after having had DRG's baby and DRG is WHM's cousin who is already married to PLD.

Only if it's an extra thing in addition to the current system. Replacement would be a nope for me. I'm not interested in instanced house myself, but if we leave the neighbourhoods for those of us who prefer them and the instanced houses for the rest, it gives a chance to more people to get a house. As long as instanced housing doesn't give some weird extra benefit cause that'd make neighbours empty and sad (even more than now). And nothing like WoW or Lost Ark strongholds please.

The only way to fix the housing for everyone and I have a plot and never see any neighbors at their homes just feels lonely.

I still feel sad when I am thinking of WoW Cataclysm and it "super" feature, Garrison.
I always felt lonely when being there.

I do not own a house in FFXIV but while being in a ward and seeing the other people's housing, you feel like you are in a neighborhood, even though most people are not really there and only visit their plot a single time in a month.
I feel instanced stuff will not give the desired satisfaction people think it will bring but that could just be me having bad experience from Garrison in WoW.

I know house wards lacks a lot of space. And in my opinion, instead of having 2 new servers added to Light and Chaos. I got the feeling those servers could be used to upgrade and have more wards being added too the current servers.
But that would mean that with every new major patch and expansion, the same issues might occur like it did with Endwalker launch. I dunno, I ain't an IT guy, I do not have insight in that data and even if I did, I would most likely not understand the numbers I'll be seeing.
The Garrison that was added in during Warlords of Draenor were more than just instanced housing. The reason everything became isolated is that Garrisons had actual game play features. You could do all of your gathering, crafting, AH playing, and even gear farming right from your Garrison without ever leaving it. Housing in FF14 is completely different and is just a purely cosmetic thing for the most part outside of Gardens and FC Workshops. It would never end up causing the same effect that the Garrisons did.

In regards to the OPs question. Yes. Give us instanced housing and make it akin to Wildstar. I hate having to fight with the glitches just to get stuff onto a loft. What was the point of making lofts when almost nothing at all can go on them without glitching it on there?

Personally, it’s more about I had no freedom in picking what size of room I want to get & no outdoor furnishing allowed. I have no other way to access these two without swallowing that neighborhood housing they’re designing for us.

If I have other ways to access it without neighborhood system, then hell yes 100% going to get it. Instanced housing seems the only solution to this.

My vote is a definite yes as a parallel to the existing system. Existing system would have demo turned back on and left on, and the FC/Personal split removed, but otherwise remain static from that point.

Absolutely, and it can be more too! Two of the games I played had a monthly vote/leaderboard system for housing. You could visit anyone's opened house from the menu and place your vote on the one you thought was worthy.
