Remember the times when MMO's were just becoming a thing and the whole hook is: "Play with people all over the world!"
And now here we are in present day being anti-social as hell on a online game. This is regression at its finest.

"I would like to sometimes not have to deal with everyone and have some me time with the game world" = Antisocial as hell
Always gotta crank that knob to the 1 or the 11 huh?
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
This.
I mean, you're fine to want less players in certain situations. I think rendering a lot of players is what causes mobs to "de-render" and become untargettable, at least according to what I was told.
But even if this is an RPG MMO, online interactions are part of the charm and design of the game. Can't really just be rid of it. Besides, let's face it. For such large city states, they're rather barren when it comes to NPCs. Players make areas look lively at least. Otherwise we'll end up with this awkward mess again...

i actually think it might be a good feature situationally. rendering too many characters can take a toll on lower or even mid end systems. if i could i would absolutely enable this feature when doing hunt trains, for example.
Honestly, rather than remove players completely, why not do what we already have for normal objects on the rendered area and tell the game "display only up to X amount of players"?
If anything, it'd prevent lag in Limsa.
Why does people act like OP is asking for permanent other players removal?? If it works client-side and can be switched on/off easily, we can simply un-hide players when we want to do social interaction...
And, I mean, if you want to talk about "you have to interact with people!!1!", then why don't you go bother the devs for putting Trust/duty support system? Or for putting ignore function, busy status, hide chat, hide name, etc.
Asking of option to "hide players" and "hide glams" mostly are for immersion sake, something that is harmless and a right for every player. It is just jarring when we first go to elpis or UT and there's already group of people running around, when the story is all about the WoL being the only one (or the first) who can reach such areas.
And again, people still have to interact (even if it's only "o/" and "gg") when doing trials or raids. No one ask to turn ff14 into single player rpg.

A Hide All PCs and Glamour is literally trying to turn the game into a Single Player game where nobody exists, like a single player game. And then Dungeons and trials are treated like Multiplayer sections. Sure, whatever.
Its not really a "Right" to say I want to hide other players and Glams just because you dont like it.
Again, just why play an MMO, if you want to be ride of the MMO part, which is a Social Gaming space?
You dont want to deal with people? Then just dont.
I’ve always wanted a feature like this. Sometimes, I just want to feel like I’m questing alone (Especially during MSQ /Side Story Quests when people are crowding around NPC’s.) It’s absolutely infuriating to try and talk to every NPC for extra character dialogue, only to have a big stupid Chocobo with bright butterfly wings standing on them. Not to mention the fact that I hate when someone runs in and stands exactly where I’m standing and my lala is suddenly sniffing their butt. Gross. Other things like giant whale mounts that obscure vision or a motorcycle's engine hum can be pretty annoying too. Also, I play this game primarily for the MSQ, which of course sets us up like we’re each the main character of the story. While this is a bit nitpicky, it is a bit immersion breaking to see so many WoL’s running around while I’m doing the MSQ.
To clarify, I’m not asking for a whole separate instance/server where I can be alone. Just a box to check in one of the Option menus to turn off other PCs on-screen. An even better option would be to allow the player to hide individual players outside of the option for “Hide All,” where it would persist even if you turn off “Hide All.” Some RP-AFKers genuinely get on my nerves, and I’d LOVE having the option to never see them again.
Of course, hiding players wouldn’t affect dungeons or other instances that require seeing other players in combat related areas. (Such as Eureka or Bozja.) It would also not affect party members. Just the overworld. (Which would include zones, city-states, and Gold Saucer, of course.) Maybe it’d be wonky when doing FATEs, but I still think it’d be worth it. I’m sure players on lower end PCs and older models of the PS4 on Hunt Trains would be at least somewhat appreciative of a feature like this.
I manage to somewhat improve the experience of having so many players on screen by turning off names for both them and all minions and muting performance, as well as disabling other PC's battle effects in the options, but it's no substitute for actually having a feature like this.
And of course, I get it. “It’s an MMO,” a lot of people might say. But I’m already a solo player. I would just like the option to remove everyone from my sight to feel even more alone than I already do.Okay well, in all seriousness, it’s just a feature that wouldn’t affect anybody outside of those using it. So why not?
Please.
Some people don't deserve to be rendered by my GPU and waste resources from my computer, specially because blocking isn't enough.
The fact that you keep ignoring how it isn't a permanent removal, and people can still socially interact when they want, tells me that you're a troll. I saw several people who made the same argument as mine, and you never bother to acknowledge it.The question/Issue is...why play an MMO, if you want to take away the MMO part.

Do you understand the concept of immersion?
Yes, it's a right because hide players/glam is client side. You can still wear whatever you want to wear and impress people who cares about those things. Go afk in limsa and show your glam, no one forbid you. People who already doesn't care about glam won't even spare a glance at you anyway.
