I really really really really don't want a remake. That was Sakaguchi's final masterpiece (yes he was credited after that but he wasn't as involved). They need to just leave it alone. They don't need to reimagine it. They can put a fresh coat of paint on it for another generation console port, but it doesn't need anymore than that.

Absolutely recommend JRPG fans play it, though. It's a love letter to the genre.

From the first trailer, it looks like there's a time gap where he gets all grizzled. He looks at least 16 or 17 in the first part of it.
