Week on learning and gameplay only for be able to put a color on your armor... That's... Well, i guess it's a thing...Why do people do any difficult content in any MMORPG? Bragging rights, generally via better gear or fancy mounts / other cosmetic items. Both of which this game offers. For example, only the Savage version of the gear can be dyed, the normal gear cannot. Also there are the bragging rights offered by a certain third party dps measuring website.
Being able to dye those armor is a bragging right itself. The gear there isn't to make you super-powerful. They are there for you to show off your achievements. Like some bun boi that stood half of a day swirling his Ultimate AST weapon I encountered in Tonberry.
I get it now, endgame in FF14 is about suffering, learning, dying and playing for weeks, to show your glam to the otherIt's a weird endgame, but it is one though
glam being the true end game isn't anything new *looks over at warframe sorry i mean fashionframe*
i've already tried saying that the savage gear set should at minimum allow people to immediately access the next tier of savages, if not be a little more powerful stat wise. but got basically nothing but backlash and me being "entitled" for wanting a gearing system that actually makes sense and rewards people time spent. especially if they're gonna space all the content out over long periods
if the only thing you have going for your new gear is slightly faster reclears or ultimates. which is only for the first tier mind you the second tiers gear is basically useless aside from faster reclears. also those who hit BiS will prolly still not touch ultimate. then there's an issue with your gearing system it's an MMO"RPG" with a linear gear progression system it should at least do the bare minimum.
you play games to experience and overcome challenges and use the strength you gained (gear skills levels etc..) to overcome the next challenge. not just pay 3mil gil and be ready to tackle the next challenge day 1. even tho your previously hard fought gear should be just as powerful as that set you spent gil on at minimum.
also those who keep crying oh but my profits off crafted sets day one *looks over at bots/mass supply literally killing the price after like 2 days to a week if you're lucky*. are we really gonna throw out a logical gearing system for you to make a couple million gil in one day? you say we should conform to you but you shouldn't conform to us? cause i hate to tell you you're still gonna be making money anyways cause not everyone is gonna farm BIS and not everyone is gonna have previous tiers set and what will they do then hmm? i wonder
EXACTLY my thought. With the time you need to spend and the mechanic learning you need to do, the stuff you loot in savage should be way more powerful (especially how hard it is to find a group). But i guess lots of people disagree with that.glam being the true end game isn't anything new *looks over at warframe sorry i mean fashionframe*
