They said it was going to be more of a personal thing so I don't imagine it would be anything other than instanced.

Makes me wonder when the hardware/server limitations excuse will stop being a thing, as people often said that instanced housing can't be a thing due to server strain. Wouldn't the implementation of IS prove that it's completely possible, or am I missing something?

I suspect they have their priorities elsewhere. They just sold a good chunk of their properties. supposedly to fund their blockchain gaming ambitions. Probably just going to let my subscription run out after the 6 months pass. Surely, some MMO out there with a better housing system wants my money.

I wonder how housing neighborhood defenders feel knowing the inside of their houses are instanced.

There are games with better housing. The question is will you feel the rest of the game is also worth playing?

I mean I love RIFT's Dimensions. That's the housing system I would love to see here (but using FFXIV art aesthetics, of course). It addresses just about every concern that players have about housing. It might be entirely instanced but some of those instances are large enough with huge item limits (can be up to 2800) you can invite friends in and create a neighborhood together, and it's easy to find and visit Dimensions belonging to other players if they have visitor access enabled.

But the rest of the game is mediocre. Not terrible, but also not especially good. It also relies heavily on the cash shop since it's F2P and the player population is dying out. Excellent housing alone is not enough for a MMO.

People don't read announcements, you should know that by the amount of housing lotto questions asked when it was broken :P
