You think the housing situation is bad now, try telling every home owner "we're going to demolish everything to implement a new system."

Wards already instanced, what exactly are these instanced housing is actually about?
Ty Pip_Chick for the lovely boy pic <3
Wards are like running a 20 year old air conditioner full blast 24 x 365. They're horribly inefficient and always on even when they don't need to be. A properly designed instancing system loads and unloads areas as needed which means the same hardware can handle more housing.
you guys can have your instanced housing, will be happy with the current house I got.
I'm one house owner that wouldn't care about having my house demolished if we were going to get a genuine improvement to the housing system. But I also recognize not others may not feel the same. Considering how fond SE is of grandfathering, I suspect they would leave the current wards in place and giving players the choice between ward housing and whatever new system was implemented if that were to happen. There's nothing that says any changes have to be only one or the other.
+1 from me, because:
1. Gingerbread houses are so ugly
2. Not enough space if you dont have a house (private rooms/appartements are very limited)
3. Not enough space in the garden
4. Lottery is still unfair (because its RNG) while some ppl still sitting on several (empty) houses
5. Demolition timer which ruins your hard work just because you took a break

I would be irritated if I lost mine because it's got a fantastic view of the Mist beach and reasonably close to the MB. If I could get a space I can decorate with a similar view and a garden then I would happily give it up.
But I recognize that it would be for the better and wouldn't grumble. Too much. I would expect them to provide incentives for people to move.
I very much agree with needing instanced housing. I like the public ward system that is currently in place, but due to the nature of housing wards, there is always going to be a shortage on some servers. And on Balmung, when I started playing, there were no apartments open either. Until I can win a lottery, I would like to have a personal house in an instance that I do not have to compete with other players for. I put this in a different forum post already, but I would like to see a lighthouse or other structure that we can enter and customize on our island sanctuaries when those come out in 6.2. Island sanctuaries will already be instanced and noncompetitive, so I think putting housing on them would solve all housing related issues at once.
Agree with instanced housing. Also, let players choose the size of their house in the instance with options to upgrade down the road. It'd be a good gil sink, too.
Neighbors don't seem to be worthwhile. Most housing wards are void of life with the rare exception of an active large FC.
