i should of replied sooner but alas...

So i expected a lot more out of the underneath the bounty. All we got was a mere planar fissure, a small void portal... It comes across as a big deal but come on the one on top of the crystal tower maybe broken but its not beyond repair. They're plenty of void portals on the void ark as it still fly's around the sea of clouds. I am sure there is some more in the weeping city of mhachi. I was expect something more earth shattering. I am assuming were going to do a laundry list of emet's last words so plz do not screw up mercydia.

on a related note 6.0 i felt the final days were a bit lacking. Amaurot was completely devastated wither meteors falling all around and all we get were voidsent like entities and meteors that didn't seem to fall.

I'm doubting the other Scions are really going to sit out on this void business in spite of Y'shtola mentioning she'd rather not get them involved. The necessity of needing to have trusts around to cover the three roles is a touch problematic since we're short a tank and healer again.

I am particularly curious about what they have planned with Thancred since they mentioned he'd have an important role to play in 6.x, and he seems to pursuing a vague agenda of his own for the time.

That depends exactly what they're planning with the void stuff and whether it needs MSQ trust support.

Setting up a base of operations in Thavnair and not getting everyone involved sounds a lot more like the framework for the raid or trial series, which do not require trust support.

My speculation right now is that

Vrtra will be swapping over to an adult simulacrum for the expedition proper, and serve as the party's All-Rounder. I base this on Nidhana having optional dialogue where she mentions another project she's working on for Vrtra. Not much else it could be, by my estimation?

I would have expected that the Void expedition is going to run into some major problems, with most of the expedition team either cut off or aetherically corrupted. Hence the solo Scion as well.

If the next expansion ties into the obscured areas of Ilsabard on the map including Corvos, then that's where the Void storyline will ultimately have to connect into over the next few patches. Now if only there were people out there who knew more about dealings with the Void than we do...

Vrtra will be swapping over to an adult simulacrum for the expedition proper, and serve as the party's All-Rounder. I base this on Nidhana having optional dialogue where she mentions another project she's working on for Vrtra. Not much else it could be, by my estimation?

It's very possible.

Then the big reveal would be that Golbez is Azdaja's simulacrum, meaning we have our Cecil/Golbez moment and reference. Because we know they're not going to skip the opportunity to pull one themselves.

I don't know why everyone is thinking

'Golbez' is Azdaja, given he outright stated that he's been waiting for "ten thousand years" and he and his compatriots are clearly seeking redemption for their fallen world, where as Azdaja has only been trapped in the Void since Allag times (read, around 6000 years or so). It's obvious the Knight in Black and the Elemental Thrones are native residents of the Thirteenth, and are probably the fallen WoLs that caused the Flood of Darkness, not a dragon from the Source who arrived in there much later.

Also,

there is no good reason why a dragon like Azdaja would prefer to assume an armoured humanoid and very male shape in the Void even with the Darkness-induced aetherial warping going on, instead of maintaing a more draconian one. It's far more likely that Azdaja is going to appear somewhere else in a completely different context, and that the Knight in Black is Azem's Thirteenth soul fragment as I mentioned, as it makes better sense. Or the Knight is someone else entirelly.

Either way I don't think the Knight in Black is going to turn out to be Azdaja, as that idea just doesn't fit.

I have definitely wondered whether we might get "adult Varshahn" at some point, now that he's still using that form to interact with people for practicality even though the truth is known. He has shifted from pretending to play the role of a servant in his child form to acting as full leader of his country, so it could easily make sense for him to want to reflect that change.

On a side note, it bugs me that Varshahn has a Thavnairian accent but dragon-Vrtra does not. It made sense while it was an act, but strange to continue with it.

I feel like we won't see an adult Varshahn, because the fact Varshahn was a child was probably reflective of the fact that, as far as the First Brood ggoes, Vrtra is the baby of the group. He presents as a child because by his timescale, he is one.

Also it probably has a practical element that, since that form was made in part to travel through that voidgate, it makes sense that it's smaller.

And also that Varshahn is a pretty nice unique model. Why change that up when you could get your money's worth out of it?

I feel like there's a good chance it'll happen as I think it would be weird to have a tiny child tanking (even if not necessarily healing), simulacrum or no. On the other hand, I... actually failed to account for the fact that you'd still need a second character that can fill one of those roles, so the plot may just fall back on Thancred and Urianger after all? That, or Y'shtola can double as Healer, she was some variety of CNJ for a while wasn't she?
