I'm pretty confident to say that the four remaining Shards (other than the First and Thirteenth), aren't much different (remember, each Shard is a reflection of the Source where things went slightly differently, but still ultimately follow similar paths (such as Ancient humanity splitting into the same basic races biologically as those on the Source).

The closest you're going to get to 'modern/futuristic' worlds here in FFXIV will be Garlemald which has/had cars, trains, advanced airships/air travel, electric light, mass-produced consumer items, advanced metallurgy and material synthesis, computers and skyscrapers, and the ancient Allag which was full on Tron-level cyberpunk with high-tech computerisation, mechanization and space travel. Some of that is progessively trickling down into Eorzean society, but it's never going to be more than a few curiosities the Ironworks and their contempories make.
it is a bit too early to tell how any civilization for Season 2 will have developed technology wise. As of now mostly everything is a assumption since Season 2 is about exploring the Unknown regions of FF14 that we have little amount of lore about such as the remaining shards, the New World (still mostly unexplored certain civilizations have yet to make contact with Eorzea exploration teams yet), and etc.

Garlean Empire may not be the only civilization that developed into modern day technology in the Source and we still know very little about the remaining shard to be certain how their civilizations have developed both magic and science wise. The smallest of details in a civilizations development can greatly affect what path they follow in technology advancement and how fast they advance after all.

We also have to keep in mind Garlean Empire did establish influence in regions beyond current regions as well so their technology advancements may have also affected certain regions we have yet to explore located in the Unknown Regions we will go to once we can enter the New World which we know had been under Garlean control far longer than the regions we currently have access to. This can lead to a new civilization that have intergrated Garlean technology into their own society more than the current civilizations we can go to due to longer exposure to Garlean control over their region before Garlemald fell.

Only thing certain is that we will eventually get there at some point in Season 2 due to the Spoilers that Emet gave us at the end of Endwalker. Emet's message is clear being that we should prepare for both the unexpected and the expected when it comes to the new civilizations we will explore in Season 2 for both on the Source and the remaining Shards.

My god Ameliance is terrifying. She outplayed Rowena with a Batman Gambit and even roped us into the scheme. I can see who Alphinaud gets his planning from, albeit not on her level. I'm terrified to see how he may end up in a few years with his planning, especially if she teaches him how to do it more effectively.

it certain explains why the Scions manage to keep operating in Eorzea for so long without any serious issues beyond what happened in the MSQ events even before WoL joined them.

Well evil corportation/business threatening them wise anyways.

    Hildibrand quest

I was curious how long until they got the Pupu involved in FF14 and they finally arrived now!

This first episode of Hildibrand Season 5 was just pure chaos and I love it!

The one year break from Hildibrand really reinvigorated the developer's chaotic energy for this season of Hildibrand and with the Pupu involved it will only get more chaotic.

After finally having time to process the pure Chaos that happens in Episode 1 of Hildibrand Season 5, I can only express it in one way....

Can't wait for more of that chaos in next major update

They really outdid themselves with that moment. A pure manga style reaction page in video game form. I can't wait for next time. XD

One interesting thing I picked up was that apparently the Omicrons encountered (and assumingly destroyed) an intergalactic civilization.

Im gonna be "that guy" and say that Pan-Galactic could simply mean that the language is used across the galaxy, not across multiple galaxies, meaning that it could just be a language used by one or several civilizations conquered by the Omicrons in the Galaxy.

Perhaps. Just to note that in the FFXIV galaxy where Etheirys is at least, we had a full sci-fi civilization that possibly possessed multiple worlds and spread a common language among them. It's interesting how we went from a fantasy somewhat bows and arrows to being in the same setting as interstellar empires.

Worth noting amid all this: Allag had technology for facilitating "communication over the massive distances between stars".

First time? The transition we have is similar to that of WoW where in the base game they had literally dungeons and dragons and in the first expansion had you going inside a spaceship filled with intergalactic demons.
I'm not much into sci-fi but I have to say, a smooth mix of fantasy and sci-fi might be a thing for me...
This makes me feel bad about Sigma dreamscape because it could have been an expansion plot if not more than that instead of the side-content we got.
