I am looking forward to the update and I hope they do add more faces to the character creator along with better body and makeup options.

I know we won't get more races (they've said as much) but more updates to them would be great - most races have a third 'clan' and I'd like to see those implemented with added character customization, such as Garlean third eyes, different au ra horn styles (and different colours from the raen and xaela ones we have now)... that's what I want over anything else, really. Anything that makes the character customization better is great in my book![]()
I really want Garlean as a playable race.I know we won't get more races (they've said as much) but more updates to them would be great - most races have a third 'clan' and I'd like to see those implemented with added character customization, such as Garlean third eyes, different au ra horn styles (and different colours from the raen and xaela ones we have now)... that's what I want over anything else, really. But I mean some races are already pushing the lore, Garleans would implode it xD.
I suppose in regards to the narrative you could have hidden your eye but it'd still be kinda strange that it never came up.
I wouldn't rly care so much tho, no one reacts to you being a Viera or Hrothgar for example even tho they're non-existent in the expansions up until SHB basically.
I can't remember if Yugiri was hiding herself because she was an Au'Ra or because she was trying to hide her identity tho, but I still think that Au'Ra would get more of a reaction from people and surprise them.
If they added Garleans it'd rly just be a '' don't think about it too much '' situation, it'd still work if you headcanoned stuff but it'd be best to just not think about the non-reaction ingame.
The same could sorta be said about races in WoW too there's so many races now and a lot of them just don't make sense in old content.
But who actually cares?
SE: We will give the game and all the races some graphical overhauls at the start of the next expansion.
Random player on the forums: Do ARR races need an update?
I blame the ancients, the eyes and ears they designed clearly don't work. Damn sundering.
That's only a problem for people with laptops from 2009. Let's be real though, they aren't gonna remodel hundreds of gear when they can't even be assed to do hairstyles for some races. The problem is, if you increase the polygon count then you have also to set the minimum requirements for the game higher. More polygons mean more drawcalls and it mean more CPU utilization. Better textures are cheaper than more polygons. But i guess, they will set the minimum requirements higher. Because they want also improve the lighting. And lighting is also more CPU intensive.
Cheers
Im really hoping once fem Hrothgar drops theyll start working on improving current races since we prolly wont be seeing new races anytime, if ever again. So yeah, more options, sliders, fixes to hroth and viera, fully hope for improves after fem Hroth...
I wouldn't get my hopes up about the "graphical update". The screenshots I saw just look like they turned on Gshade and added some copypasted clutter to the environments. The new lighting still doesn't even look as good as screenshots from 1.x.

???
( Yes it does look higher res and more textured to me, it's not just new lighting. This is a quite drastic update... )
Edit: I didn't even notice but it does say '' high-res ''.
Makes sense that the min req to run the game would go up too.
If you think that they just added new assets to the environment then you need to look again.
My guess is that Female Hrothgar will be released at the same time as the graphical update in 7.0.
It just makes sense to create them along with that and release them with it, and I also think in the end while it might take longer it'll also give us the highest quality since they won't have to create them for the current version of the game.

There are many players with ten years old computers. Look into the technical forums. There was a sound issue, which only appeared on AMD Bulldozer CPUs. And the thread because of this sound issue is huge.
Cheers
Ah I didn't see this particular one. The Roe and Lala pics don't nearly have this level of difference, they must have taken special care for Derplander being the posterboy. Hopefully they don't just leave it at him and leave the rest of the races to hang out to dry.???

But somehow, although it's definitely higher res... they made his face uglier.
