Large part of happiness in any online game is writing suggestions and complaints in forums. It's just another venue to socialize.

The main reason why the Party Finder is not working for the harder content and so many groups disband after few wipes is caused by the players who ignore the comments.
Getting to the phase XYZ once does not mean you are ready to join parties to do XYZ.
Parties should spend most of the time doing the phase that is written in the comment not trying to get there.
I totally agree with this.
It’s the most realistic picture of the actual state of FFXVI.
And I think the fact is SE is trying to get more subscriptions they can, rather than deliver a good quality game.
You are not suppose to know how to play the game. You can basically run all MSQ/Post MSQ and normal contents without pressing any buttons. Just auto attacking.
You also can play this Multi Massive Online RPG in solo, because everyone should have fun with FFXIV.
And ofc, because of that FFXIV has 5 hardcore endgame contents, so the hardcore player base can enjoy and have fun too.
Five Hardcore Endgame Contents.
(Trials ex are jokes please, if you struggle with them then git gud).
Four of them you can run once per week, because SE needs to stretch as much as they can your play time.
So a player like me, a relative recent loyal costumer, who had started playing in 2019, who had learnt how to play the game (like other games) now finds difficult to say what is made for the good or for the cash.
Poor endgame.
No challenge with expert dungeons (…and they dare call them “expert” mah…)
job reworks made for …who?
An overall simplification of the base of the game.
….just to give a general overview about changes brought so far.
Most of the ppl I met during this 3 years has left the game bc of boredom or are bored to play FFXIV.
I dont play FFXIV if not to do my reclears and get punished for a bad rng drop rate.
Sometimes I help ppl in PF for they kills and sometimes when I run simple contents I’m bullied for being a player who knows how to play their job.
And the major update I’m waiting is the DC merge.
I think this can be enough to explain why I’m a bit disappointed by the direction the game has taken.
But ppl that enjoy the actual state of the game likes chatting to each others, likes glamour contests, likes rp events in casinos, or night clubs. Ppl that enjoy game likes to do everything they could do in irl without the social pressure of being face to face bc its easier to socialise behind a monitor.
And they don’t play FFXIV as a game…rather they play XIV as a social environment.
I don’t blame these ppl.
I don’t blame SE neither.
I thought I had found a good everlasting game.
I blame myself for this childish hope.
Honestly I’m not sure I want a 7.0 anymore if SE’s actions will not change.
Eventually you’ll come to the same bitter conclusion as I did, if you are interested in something more than…well wasting time doing anything you could do in irl…or maybe not. That depends on what you find enjoyable and fun and that is the key point of XIV, after all.
Okay, let's go with this then. The numbers are true and those most vocal are correct. Cool. But the most vocal players around the game are generally happy with it. It's only here on the forums where there's a mass amount of negativity largely propagated by a handful of regulars. Why do those on reddit, twitter, youtube, twitch, etc. not count? Let's be honest, they don't count because they don't agree with you. If the vast majority of players were complaining about the game you would be saying: "See! See! Look at all of the players who aren't happy! They all agree with me!" The only reason you don't count them is because they don't.
Honestly I don't want them to change the game anymore. People seem to like it and I've started thinking maybe it's just me.
What I really want is a new MMO to be released, for example basically like WoW expect with the storytelling, anti-harassment policy and all jobs on one class of ff14, no FOMO removal of content or infinite treadmills and an improved housing system. Then I'd happily jump over there and leave ff14 players to enjoy their game.
It's quite clear that if you aren't happy with anything in the game, you're not welcome here. That's fair, I just wish there was a decent MMO to move to.
To a degree, yes. Things like the "show your character" threads or "Tales from the Duty Finder" and other things which do already exist on this forum, where people discuss their game experience or new additions to the game or announcements, saying whether it appeals to them or not. But that relies on having a regular forum population who come here regularly not because they have an immediate complaint but because they want to discuss all aspects of the game including positive ones. But that needs some cultivating, like moderating and merging threads, or starting official feedback threads for things instead of leaving it for the first person to come in saying "X is awful" and that turns into the discussion thread even if everyone else likes it.
But also, there are degrees of feedback. If a forum is largely populated by people who are positive about the game overall, they are still going to be able to provide feedback and complaints, but it's going to look very different to the complaints made by people who are unhappy with the game on a large scale. They can still talk about which parts of it they are enjoying and which parts are not working well for them.
People are happy, but generally, those that are happy have better things to do in the game than to debate on the Official Forums, or whatever other outlet there is where people express discontent. In a sense, people will only really come on here when there is discontent to be had.
Personally, I'm happy and very much content with the majority of the game, occasionally I will engage in debate, but if I'm happy with a product then generally expressing such on this place, or even Reddit is at the bottom of the barrel in terms of my priorities. Furthermore, I just find it gets overly exhausting and miserable.
The "complainers" come here to give feedback and show the devs what they want. The "happy people" accept everything that comes to the game, and then stop playing when everything goes wrong (see the wow situation).
I noticed you're playing as male Viera. You're welcome =)

talking harshly about something doesn't mean you gotta be unhappy! ^^
I think it's important to disallow people the ability to make your views seem like they are little more than a fringe minority. It's a common manipulative tactic in the present day, especially online. In reality, there's plenty of room for the development team to compromise and avoid neglecting different groups of players. They just so happen to have established a trend where they largely look at Twitter for feedback and make changes based on what a vocal portion of the game's following are pushing for.Honestly I don't want them to change the game anymore. People seem to like it and I've started thinking maybe it's just me.

I'd also note that it won't really change if you move over to a different MMO but don't take a stand - because much like how WoW gradually collapsed upon itself by appeasing those who didn't actually like a lot of what had been established, if FFXIV ever falls out of fashion the same people who demand everything changes for their benefit will just move to whatever the new, flashy thing happens to be.
It's a delicate balance. With that said, I don't necessarily disagree with you - if this game intends to be little more than a glorified visual novel neglecting content in favour of comfort characters and bare bones features then I, too, will find myself eager to jump ship at the first opportunity. I think the art style and commitment to PvE and PvP features in certain upcoming MMO's will ward off most of the problems that this game's community has been plagued with.
So I do hope that at least one of the upcoming MMO's manages to stick and do well for itself. If nothing else, it's healthy competition.
Just give me SCH's DoTs and Selene back please SE I beg of you
