Gender neutral clothing isn't eating your extra glamours, the cash shop is.
You mean the same 3d modeling team that after 3 years couldn't figure out how to add more Hrothgar hairstyles without cutting off their ears? Whatever is going on over there, gender-neutral glamours are the absolute last thing they need to be worried about now, much like how the writing and localization teams need to focus on writing a coherent story instead of worrying about beast tribes that use special pronouns.

    Thank you Square Enix insider,

They spent time adjusting 2b's dress to male characters instead of adjusting 9s' outfit for them. ( Both of which are in game and rigged to female model, so none of this arm-chair developer bs ty ) Surely that did not take away from the enjoyment of a large chunk of people for an extremely small minority who happens to wear that glam for jokes?

you do have a point, but what i'm trying to say is cutting 1 converted arr outfit will not get you 1 new glamour. there is clearly something else going on with the devs.

i do feel bad for hrothgar especially though. the entire race seems to be a victim of poor planning

youre right, 9s outfit should be in the game too. infact every mesh in the game can be already worn by either gender model with only slight deformation in the chest.
which means these conversions take up even less time and are not the reason for fewer new glamours

Obligatory short answer to op: no
Long non obligatory answer: no, this is a fantasy game, the point isn't to emulate real life societal values. Go somewhere else if you want that.

That's the narrative you want to spin, but it's not the truth.
Anything that does not have a male mesh will not be able to be worn on them, and "slight deformation in chest" isn't as easy as you make it out to be, they also require rigging to breast bones so they can work with the sliders/move. Neither conversion is as easy as you think it is and definitely takes away time from something worthwhile, especially because this is a corporation with schedules. I mean they literally haven't managed to do hair for Hrothgar for 3 years, and Viera is taking it's sweet times as well, those don't require new models either.

*sigh* I knew this was coming. I hoped it wouldn't though.

OK, I think the easiest way for me to explain this is as an assembly line such as a bakery, or mechanical assembly. You are correct, and different teams work on different things. The issue though is that despite this, the overall capacity to do things is based on which process consumes the most time. Using a bakery for example who are making croissants. One team rolls the dough, another forms the croissant, and another actually puts then in the oven and bakes them. The last team has the capacity to bake 100 in an hour. But the first team can only make 50 per hour. So the entire bakery only has the capacity to turn out 50 croissants an hour.

Using your example, the design team can make outfits all day long, but it is on the 3D modeling team to render them to all races and genders. The attire we get in the game in entirely contingent on the capacity of that team. And everyone in design may not know how to use the same tools and programs the 3D modeling team does, so it is not a matter of just throwing more resources at it. This can actually be counter productive due to training, certification, etc.

    Hope that makes sense.

Edit to fix unacceptable grammatical errors xD

Now, before people go off about how much work this would be, and how unreasonable, and how little it's needed, I *know* that it is a lot of work, 10+ years of dialogue, and that the people who need this are a minority, but I still think it would be worth it.

Edit: if you're just going to come and say it's not worth it, please don't comment. If you're going to disparage the queer community, leave.

Aye, pretty much. I play with japanese audio, so everything is okay there. It is mostly the english. They use he/she her/him and the like. I am assuming OP wants the english to at the very least display they/them or something else. When coding a simple small project for a class the program I was using just allowed for me to input the text to fill out pronouns in mass and put place holders similar to a characters name. So it was customizable, you could choose the setting and it would just fill in the blanks accordingly which was why I assumed it would be easy for the english to just add the option and autofill with whatever peoples hearts desired.

Personally I find it weird to begin with how the game just knows magically what my gender was unless they are all pervs or I told them.

Something also my partners mom brought up. She plays male elezen because she likes having a hot dad to look at while she plays, but it would be cool to have the option for the game to know her real life gender. It was just a small thing and by no mean the most important thing. There is just this small feeling for myself that I wouldn't have even told the scions my first name let alone my gender.
