I think there's more important and practical things that should be done to the game before they add in a feature that involves bringing real world controversies into a videogame.

I don’t care and neither should you, you play a dragon scaley female in a universe full of magic and crap. I doubt the devs are aiming for ultra realism, might as well ask “where are all the Mexicans representation?” This isn’t a Netflix show
Is your character in-lore a pixie or even a dragon? No? Then this is unnecessary. Put it in your Search Comment and be about your day.

Isn't this like an American thing? I'm from the Netherlands and i'm in the LBTQ community and I've literally never had anyone state their pronounce to me...
It will end up like portraits I think, will just become a huge joke, with all the "funny" people in this community giving themselves a ridiculous pronounce, because to most people it is ridiculous..
I'm pretty sure gender in dialogue is just a table that the game looks up based on the character's gender and not hardcoded into the dialogue. might be easier to do than people expect.
Worrying about pronouns is such a wrestern first world problem that only a minority of people in said western nations (who also seem to be from the middle class and higher) care about this (and almost always enforce it onto other people, like the controle freaks they are).
When you look at the WoL. Tovarishch has other things to worry about. Like dalmud almost crashing, a primal being summoned, bahamut comming back, dragons invading isgard.... owning a house....

I have no opinions on this change, but all the people saying it would be difficult to implement are not correct. It would actually be quite simple. The game script (in English) already just has a bunch of variables that get replaced with whatever sex you pick when you create your character. All they would have to do is add something to the UI to let people pick from a list, and add those lists into the references. There is no need to edit the script itself at all, and it doesn't matter how long it is or how much they've added to it over the years.
I really dont get it. If someone wants to be called a she, why not play a female? I always thought that being trans means that you are born in the wrong body and since not everyone can go through a sex change they show it through pronouns. Ingame you can simply start with the gender you really want to be.I have no opinions on this change, but all the people saying it would be difficult to implement are not correct. And if its about they/them: Please remember that we have more than one language...In Germany we dont have a easy form for "they/them". According to google people need to use "sie/er" (thus both genders) or the english version in their profiles. I dont even know how the other languages would do that. So no its not so easy.
On top of that we are still in a different world with different customs. Why should NPCs (who probably care more about surviving) be able to know that you are going as "they/them" when they have never meet you before? Why should they assume something different?
(But I also cant really wrap my head around non-binary. Its so confusing to me.)

Time is better spent on other things. As for offending someone, most ppl in this game you get paired up in a duty with once or so randomly. Might see them lounging around in a city. I dont think some random person will even remember you after your small interaction and it would be weird to just insert it into a conversation with someone.I see nothing wrong with adding a pronoun feature to characters. It's 2022, and to have them on display for people to see would make it easier to not offend anybody. Sure its a lot of text to go through, but it makes sense. The problem will only get worse with the games age. It literally hurts no one, but the developers who have to make the change. It's a harmless request that can be either accepted, or denied by the devs. People who oppose it are just overreacting.
