It's amusing how people always say "It's casual content, your elitist uptime thing doesn't matter, don't be so greedy it literally makes 0 difference, go do savage with your uber static if you want logs lol", that people should play it decently safe in DF because they're running with strangers (e.g. comfort healing), defend Vercure and Clemency because sTrAnGeRs etc.
But the moment Rescue gets brought up they do a 180 and are all "NO RESCUE! I have a plan and YOU are interrupting it and you may not know it because we're strangers but I have a plan and don't you DARE touch my character because my uptime is important and I want that last cast/ GCD!".
Yes, Rescue moves a character. You are NOT your character, the other player doesn't inappropriately touches your private parts or something. Yes, it momentarily interrupts your gameplay. As does someone chasing you with an aoe marker or running away with a stack marker or baiting a cone poorly or turning the boss to much or or or or... the list is long.
Dying to something or even just taking signifcant damage also interrupts the healer's gameplay but since it's just healers, who cares, eh?
Rescue has in fact gotten nerfed because it has been used too well all the time.
You were able to cancel LB animation locks with it and it was standard procedure.
They removed that unfortunately but it was still possible to move someone during animation lock to safety; they were still animation locked but in a safe position.
I've used and seen it used really well many times. Most recent example being someone standing in the wrong spot for platform spin on 1st trial, light waves and crests on 2nd trial, planets on 3rd trial, lasers on 2nd boss of the new expert and basically every single mechanic in the new alli raid.
But also in older content.
People do NOT know that you have your greed calculated down to the millisecond and are good enough to pull it off; demanding to completely removing a skill just because someone touched your character with it is incredibly selfish.
It's maybe 2 seconds, one cast, one GCD. It's not the end of the world. Even if you die, it was an honest attempt to prevent a death. Healers are not there to just make your non-healer life fun and great; they are allowed to improve and grow and make mistakes on the way while meaning well.
