Are we getting additional wards in compensation for Housing being disabled for basically a month?

You've misunderstood what he is saying. This is pretty absurd, ngl. They told us already that they were already testing it. Now they are "building" something ot test further? Come on. This should be around the clock work. Saying business days is kind of a joke considering our subs don't revolve around business hours. And to the person saying Housing is a small aspect. I wanna see your numbers. Because from the amount of complaining about availability to the number of housing threads that were on the JP servers complaining and on Twitter, I think you're not only clueless but you're also just backing Square up on something that shouldn't take a company as large as Square another 2 weeks to fix.
Testing has been completed for the lottery process They are confident there are no more bugs that will occur in the future, including the one that had affected players attempting to enter for relocation purposes and which had necessitated the original emergency maintenance during the entry period.
Now what they need to test is transferring the winner results to make certain what is currently bugged gets fixed, that everyone who won can claim their plot if they haven't already, and that no new problems occur.
Imagine if transferring the lottery results caused the housing server to think the claimed plots are supposed to still be vacant and so demolishes what was already built, or it decides that winners who had accept refunds thinking they had lost had forfeited their purchase rights?
SE really doesn't want anything else to go wrong so they're taking their time to make certain the results work correctly. Considering each world now has unique conditions for plots and refunds claimed, they've got to be careful.
Just making instanced housing no one cares about the ward system except botters and FCs that buy out entire wards to build an RP town for one person
And you've misunderstood everything i've said in it's entirety. This shouldn't even be needing to be extensively tested right now. It should have gone through the paces prior to deployment. And wasn't. Clearly. It's been pointed out in numerous threads as well that testing on the game and extension looks at bugs have gone to the way side since Yoshi has worked on XVI. if they didn't want anything else to go wrong, they should have taken into account why exactly they had to push EW back like they did. Which was supposedly for Quality check. I guess they forgot how much quality check they wanted to put into their work this time around. You've misunderstood what he is saying.

I believe the issue came from them not accounting for server load. This is why this time around they want to test their fixes while taking it into account.
Agree. They should not just now be building servers to replicate an actual housing environment for testing. This should have been done a year ago, while they were building and testing the lottery system. It wasn't. It shouldn't take an additional 8+ business days to build this out now, the issue was raised nearly 2 weeks ago. They should have been working to build that right away. The test environment should have been ready PRIOR to the fix being completed. A fix is not completed if it isn't tested. They can say they are "confident it will work" because they've tested it, but that haven't. It's extremely frustrating all the way around. And you've misunderstood everything i've said in it's entirety. This shouldn't even be needing to be extensively tested right now. That's a smart and sound decision. Simulating the results even after they think they are sure, just to know that they are sure, is an absolute win for the community. People will whine, but it really shows the dedication the devs have to getting it right. If only they cared this much about Hrothgar hair.In the latest post they confirmed they HAVE done all the testing and have it ready to go, but them want to simulate the rollout first.

Where's the dedication to thorough testing over a year prior when announcing the new system? I'd like to see where that dedication is/went.That's a smart and sound decision. For all we know, it had been tested thoroughly prior to 6.1's release and it was the emergency maintenance that introduced whatever caused the bug.And you've misunderstood everything i've said in it's entirety. Either way, it doesn't matter what should or shouldn't have happened in the past. We're stuck with what did happen. Pursuing blame doesn't help anyone because it doesn't fix problems.
Let's get the problems fixed.
The last thing we need is for them to rush out a fix that introduces a new set of problems.
Did you ever stop to think that a single generic housing environment isn't going to work for testing the fix and that they might need to replicate the current conditions on all 73 worlds so they can test each individually?Agree.
