turning off tank stance is lame and screws the other two people.

For me it's very simple you either ok with someone pulling for the tank and I am ok if the tank screws you or they don't like people being rude and pull for the tank and they won't blame the tank.

You can't expect people not to pull and at the same time expect the tank to take aggro and not teach them a lesson.

The "teaching them a lesson" by intentionally not grabbing aggro is petty behavior that tanks try to pull off. It doesn't teach anything other than showing us you can't tank.

The "lesson" that you are teaching them is that you personally are a horrible tank on a power trip. If that's what you want people to think of you, go ahead.

Far as I know, it's always been a thing.

I don't really mind, I'll try to pull the aggro off them, if they die before I manage to do it, oh well....

If it is my first time in a dungeon I take it slower to memorize the pulls but if it's not I'll try to set or keep up the pace of the party.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this earlier in the thread, but consider this as a tank.

If 1 of the 3 other people in a dungeon runs ahead of you and pulls more mobs there are 2 other people in that run that may have done nothing wrong who are now having to deal with your bad attitude and refusal to do your job as a tank.

I say this as someone who in 8+ years has never forced a tank to pull more mobs than they wanted to in a dungeon but has died dozens of times and lost hours of time to wipes caused by the "You pull it, you tank it" attitude. The way it usually goes down is when mobs come back and the tank isnt doing their job anymore I inevitable get aggro on everything and die because I was doing my job of contributing as much DPS as I can properly. I have even seen tanks who see me die, assume that they "got their man" and go back to hitting the mobs leaving the "offending" DPS unpunished.

My attitude in group content in this game is simple. Try to do what you can to advance the goals of the party. If you arent comfortable with something that fine, if you make mistakes thats fine, but the moment you intentionally shirk your responsibilities and refuse to contribute to the goals of the party instead of at least trying to rise to the challenge presented you become the problem.

I used to do that - but now with trusts I just run the first time through any dungeon with them. Though that's mostly to enjoy the story content.

If your goal in going slow is to enjoy story stuff, I'd really recommend going with trusts, the incidental dialogue your party members have really add a lot.
