Been really obsessing over how I missed the tiny hat event for this game. It's like a dirty mark on my account. Don't really know why, but every time I actually miss an event, it's not even the rewards that bothers me, but the fact that I miss out on an achievement. Doesn't happen very often. I couldn't care less about most of the rewards, although the tiny hat might have looked good with a red mage glamour. It probably would have actually. I procrastinated until the last night to do it, then I fell asleep after playing Lost Ark that entire day. Really don't know why nasty marks like this bother me so much. It's always something small that has me thinking about it for weeks after the fact, years actually.
Aside from that, in Lost Ark, I seem to have fallen back into my usual. I only play three characters (or jobs), for the most part. I feel really bad about it too, because I kind of made myself into a liar. I joined a guild on a different alt, but I just decided one morning I hated that class, so I just stopped playing it pretty much altogether, aside from some minor daily stuff (not actually playing content with it). I only accepted the guild invite, because the guy was nice in PMs, and I didn't want to join a guild on my actual main character, but I had told him that, at the time, I might have made that character my "main" alt, and that definitely isn't true now. I still log into it to donate to that guild every single day, even though I get no value out of it, over some sense of obligation.

I've been watching a lot of food videos, and there's a channel called '' Food Insider ''.
It's pretty funny to see how they label everything '' iconic and legendary '' then you scroll down the comments and it's a bunch of natives who are upset because it's like the lamest thing ever that is just overrated due to tourists lol.
One of them was some German Kebab van that looked totally basic it honestly just looked totally average and what you'd find everywhere in Germany or Sweden.
I get this in Sweden too it's always annoying to get people with such a limited experience with food here and they either say that it sucks or they ate at some really basic place and act like it's incredible just because it's uncommon where they're from :P...
Most tourists will also go to places like Stockholm too we honestly have more unique food in the Southern part especially in regards to meat.
An example from the same channel was Cardamom Buns, damn if you think that's the most incredible thing ever you have no idea xD.
We have a ton of great pastry, Cardamom Buns is like the most basic thing imaginable you make as a kid.
But yeah Fermented Herring turned into a meme and now that's basically all we're known for I guess.
It doesn't help that people ALWAYS eat it wrong and just open it up right in the open, I am not really a huge fan of it but it's still pretty okay if eaten correctly.
Apparently tubed stuff is more of a thing here too and I see people just emptying the tubes into their mouths and then wondering why it's bad lol, it's for sandwiches...
It's almost like emptying a bottle of butter into your mouth and wondering why it tastes bad xD.
I haven't rly seen this tried because it's not a meme like Fermented Herring, but Knäckebröd ( Crispbread ) is another one of those old things that has been around for at least 1500 years ( perhaps more ) and we still eat today.
I actually like it more than most bread too especially with butter and cheese it's also healthier than bread.
Now I am just imaging people eating it raw and wondering why it's so bland tho lol, the texture as a sandwich is quite pleasant imo.
One of my favorites tho is Kalops especially my grandmothers, especially the Southern version.
But yeah it definitely seemd like a common thread, either their food was prepared/ eaten wrong or it was the most basic or boring stuff ever.
But people on the outside are all like WOOOW :OOOOOOOOOOOO.

Gaaaaah, I finally found this thread. I had to work with the PC version on phone and fine-tooth the search results. Kind of wanted to really vent about the whole WoW expansion reveal thing.
IDK. I felt a visceral anger watching it. I'm still in several circles actively centered around WoW topics because I like the people I meet sometimes. It's somewhat grating to see people cry and cry about the game, and yet get so immensely defensive about it that it becomes unbearable to converse with them. Perhaps the FFXIV fandom is like this. Perhaps all games are like this. But the people in the WoW community... such a major portion of them are self-admitted adults. People with families and work. To see them swoon and fight over a game as if they are still in their late teens is a bit... second-hand embarrassment-inducing.
Plus, to have seen first-hand the entire débàcle that occurred around Blizzard, the absolute unforgivable things they did... and for customers to indeed, move on like nothing happened... Extremely saddening. No one cares anymore. Everyone wants to tune out stuff and consume without remorse.
Would it be against the forum rules if I posted a link to a few books I have out there that have been published?
Thats the harsh truth thought. Most corporations have a lot of skeletons in there closets. Multiple big name food and clothing companies profit from child labor to this day. Apple, Amazon, Disney, and others profiting from forced chinese labor. Amazon and there crappy US labor policies. More and More companies moving towards automation to avoid paying higher wages. Even Square Enix has more than a handful of controversies.
A wise man once said big corporations are not your friend. They are just after your money no matter what they say. And if you go the route of not buying from companies like that well you'll be soon out of people to buy from.
It should be fine. So long as you're not telling people to buy anything and instead are simply redirecting people to check out something you made then you won't breach the advertisement rules.
Yep. I daresay it'd be impossible or at least exceptionally difficult and expensive to boycott each and every business that is involved in something that I dislike. It's a lot easier when it's something that isn't a necessity but I do miss the days when businesses looked to sell a product or service instead of trying to pretend as if they were morally superior.
It's definitely a balancing act, though. For every Netflix and Coca Cola that I've cut out of my life entirely, there's other businesses that I continue to interact with simply because it's convenient. I pick my battles.
Tera shuts down forever:

This is also a game with so much potential.
Cheers
Fantasia addiction turned me back into a miqo'te, and probably for at least a full month, because I also dropped $100 on Lost Ark.
I don't feel very good about what I did.

I am surprised it lasted as long as it did, it was a pretty good game when I played I have no idea in more recent years tho.
I am a bit scared of this with Blade and Soul too, have a lot of fond memories with that game and the base story is genuinely really good imo.
10 years is a good run tho, it just always sucks with MMO's that you lose all of that work you put into it ( and cosmetics you spent money on ).
One day it'll happen to every online game I am just more wary of it with games that aren't under more '' mainstream '' publishers.
Happened to Wildstar too, I quit playing it and was gonna return then I found out that the game was shutting down in like a week.
I wish MMO's that closed down got offline modes at least, nothing super in depth necessarily but just the ability to play it as a sandbox without other players offline so it's not lost forever.
Sad but true,.
I just wrote off Blizzard completely, threw away all of their games and all merch and collectors editions I owned of them ( I've played their games since I was like 6 years old, so it's not like it wasn't a big deal to me too ).
It's not even Blizzard anymore to begin with, I just view it as Activison now.
All of the people who made Blizzard great aren't there anymore a lot of them left way back, the people who made Diablo what it was left after 2.
Blizzard just doesn't deserve any extra attention or bias and if I wouldn't give Activison any special treatment I won't give '' Blizzard '' any either.
People are still in love with a company and studios that simply no longer exist.
