That's kind of what I'm asking though. Is there some conceivable reason why they might need to avoid clipping things in this way? It seems a strange thing to do if they don't have to, and I was wondering if there might be a genuine reason why they do it. Is there some way it could cause issues?

Clearly it's not the case that they have to avoid any instance of clipping, so why in this instance would they need to leave hairstyles hovering rather than clipping them in?
