    Well, the changes are in and it's worse than I imagined. The loss of Kaiten is the most terrible thing of course, but now SAM also gets to be a braindead pbaoe user like most everyone else. I'll really miss that dance, weaving in and out of aoe to nail as many circular aoe targets as you can before finding the right Tenka positioning for maximum target saturation.

    I am running out of faith.

    Keep being vocal about it, Yoshida seem'd kinda distraught by peoples reactions and said they'd look at the feedback to the changes and might revert it.

    100% agree. This simplification of jobs is a bad sign for the future. I've seen it happen in multiple MMOs now and in all of them the classes are just some homogenised goo who all do the same thing but in different colours.

    The main issue with the job has been and continues to be button bloat. Removing Hissatsu: Kaiten does in fact, remove 1 button, but that button was part of the core rotation and is part of the kenki management cycle of SAM, which contributes to its skill level. proper kenki management is at the heart of skillful SAM play and learning it makes the job enjoyable.

    Having 3 long cool down( or resource-gated) skills does NOT contribute IMO and is a pain to keep on the hotbar. The easiest fixes in the world would have been: Combining Shoha and Shoha II into 1 ability, with a damage falloff. Combining Hissatsu: Senai and Hissatsu: Gurren in the same way. Even REMOVING Hissatsu: Gurren and divvying up its allotted dps into Shoha II would have been better. Lastly, tucking Ogi Namakiri underneath Ikishoten, both of which are abilities used once every 2 minutes and one gates the other. There, 3 buttons removed, and I bet not one person in the entire community would mourn them AND the core rotation remains untouched.

    Us old WoW players are getting PTSD flashbacks. The devs really need to change their stance on how they address job changes going forward

    bet all we'll get is a "please understand" this time around. or maybe he'll tell us to "go play ultimate" like the healers. hell they'll probably just look at wherever the heck they got their "pls remove kaiten" feedback and just say that everything is fine and dandy.

    These 4 lines pretty much say it all. I don't quite understand the logic of making the Kaeshi continuations no more potent than the original attacks. It's not like the extra crit damage is going to make up for the fact they're the same potency. So it really look like Kaeshi are just going to be extra buttons you press because they're there and not because you actually *want* to because of the previously huge numbers.
