And a large part of the potency increase is in Wildfire and Automaton Queen, the former being wonky and painful on bad ping and the latter being boring as hell.
I joked in NN before the servers went down that I hope MCH mains enjoy their 30 potency increase to Drill. I was wrong. It's 10 LOL.
I did love the removal of RNG (despite Gunmage working in HW) but I gotta agree: MCH needs some reworking.
I don't think Air Anchor, Drill and Chain Saw are bad. I like the idea of multi-tool, multi firepower weapons and stuff. My problem relies on:
- Automaton being a powerful dot. MCH being the Gadget could have something like Stance that goes into with different weapons. This might be a bit SMN but with technology but don't have to 1:1 that.
- Flamethrower being aoe niche stuff. Could even have a minigame where you have to hit the skill again in your cast-bar to not make it overheat and not simply a click and forget.
- AoE Battery usage
- Wildfire being very unsatisfatory. Alot of work for something that doesn't deal alot of damage. Could be 100% crit/dhit (or have the option to crit/dhit).
- Heat/battery have only one usage in a Job that the fantasy is to have multiple gadgets to use.
Battery could remove AQ, and be a set of skills that you use that debuffs the next X gcd/ogcd for MCH. Make it debuff to make their own DPS higher:
"Eletric bullets have hit the skin, making contact with any skills made by Machinist will improve its damage."
Make it have to prepare for itself, rather than just reassemble and skill. Or even make that one skill gives a part of a gadget, when it fills (after idk 3 uses) you can use a new weapon until it "breaks"
There are MANY ways of changing MCH. And I hope they give it some love and rework and still continue on the gadget/multi-tool/weapon job.
Another sad day with no reworks in sight. Buffs are pathetic. Ping problems with Heat Blast were ignored yet again and as a slap in the face DRK got charges on their Blood Weapon.
Waiting for that 7.0 Rework.
We both know we would be disapointed, it's the same for 3 expansions now. Wherever you enjoyed the pre shb mch or the post shb one, the same things are brought up: ping, damage problem (remember 4.4 where it was a liability to even have a mch?) and "there are a lot of ways proposed to make mch better", in the end, we'll get nothing and that's how much they care for 6years

Dev team asks us to be nice on the forum but keeps disrecpecting the whole MCH community.
If I'm reading the Gunbreaker PvP actions correctly, they now have a channeled ability that can be used while moving.
If so, I'm going to be cautiously optimistic as to how this can be incorporated into Flamethrower.
I saw it posted in another thread and I agree, the devs and yoshi just glance over or ignore Mch and its problem in lives and in content and show no interest in it. Comments like "I guess we'll talk about mch now" (paraphrasing) just feel disheartening and like they dont care about the job or its players. Which is sad because its been my main job since HW. I honestly cant say that Ill main it in 7.0 if something isnt done. The job has its problems, but Ive seen dozens of different perspectives and ideas on how to fix or adjust it that would work and be balanced and inline with not only the R-phys but also just DPS in general. The players have given them tons of ideas on what needs changing and what could be done, theres no excuse any more. And I understand every job is gonna have people who dont like this or that, but with MCH theres a pretty common answer to what needs to be fixed from almost everyone Ive seen.
Might as well just make mch a limited job that can only queue up for PVP in 7.0 if all we ever do is get negligible 2.38% damage buffs.
