Every field of industry right now requires this little chip to function: car, phone, computer, and even your local traffic light system.
The shortage starts in 2019 due to US-China trade war and Covid 19.
I suggest you to pay attention to news or what happened around you, even you claims yourself a gamer.

Are we talking chips? No. We are talking the amount of players the servers can handle. They sold more preorders than the servers could handle.
