Just lost my ability to play tonight because I stepped away from my PC and missed the ridiculously tiny window to log back in and hold my spot in queue. It is not, and has never been, a problem with my Internet connection. Between that nonsense and moderator bot replies we get, I'm fully convinced SE doesn't give a crap about customers having this problem.

    Greetings fellow Eorzean,

We apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced with server congestion and connection based errors such as 2002 on Final Fantasy XIV. Due to the recent release of Endwalker, we are experiencing an extremely high surge in player base which may result in long queue times and various connection error. We are aware of this inconvenience and have addressed it in the following Lodestone post:

    https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...9264ac9f24986f

We understand the frustration regarding this matter and ask that you try again at a later time to see if the issue persists along with keeping an eye out on the Lodestone website when further updates will become available. Note that our development team is working as hard as they can to address these issues as quick as possible and we do ask for your patience while we work towards a resolution.

Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support forums!

I myself am sorry that you had the issue again, but i can only point out you chose night time (prime time probably for your DC/server) to log in. for instance it's 5:30 am and i have a queue of 19. last night at 11:30 pm i had about 1050 or more queue and i got in in 30 minutes. i've had queues of 3-4K and more and it's taken a long time to log in. I hope you can find an equilibrium for your life and play time to work till the server population and queue size to drop back, but i'm starting to see some of that happen as people are getting done with the expac and dropping back off to more casual play. this is and has been the norm for most major expac/content releases since mmo's have been in existence

*** Edit *** if you looked, the dev post below your post I replied to and the link is a good link, so someone fixed the copy paste post that deals with the issue that you have experienced, and normally if they don't care about this they would not be bothered to correct an incorrect link.

I have tested my connection and i got the same results.

The client shuts down the connection roughly every 15 minutes.

    Cheers

I love playing this game, but I canceled my sub. I just do not have time to sit in a 2-hour queue every day, babysitting it, making sure to move the little box telling me what position I am in, in order to not be kicked with 2002. Unfortunately, this won't be fixed until a significant number of people actually do that, and I doubt that anyone will. I hope that I can play this game again one day, but that day is not today.

I've contacted NTT via multiple sources and I've sent them full Pingplotter data reports, asking them to fix the problem. Since Square Enix would rather just BLAME US even though we've given them more than enough flipping evidence.

Here's from just a bit ago.

Over a sample size of weeks, where during the weekdays (aft, EST) it would become crappy (I'm assuming as people start to load on).
This has been happening for weeks, and through tests it was found in my case that it was the route from NA source to the NA square servers.
Using my native North American East coast connection, I would frequently experience drops WHILE in game. Switching to an Australian VPN source,
I no longer experienced those drops, but experienced an dramatic increase in latency, as expected. 80ms to 400+ms.

Unfortunately, NTT is useless, and Square won't move a muscle.

The snapshot below was not during the disconnects, only a baseline to show routing, but when I do experience those disconnects it definitely is
the gin.ntt.net nodes. This is NOT related to the queue disconnects which is an overloaded server farm, from my experience of the situation.

    Native North American connection:

Point of this message? Nothing, just yelling into the wind, as it doesn't matter to anyone that will make a diff. Support tickets to Square receive a generic copy and paste tier 1 response, giving me a cooking recipe to do on my router.

Actually, it is within their control as it is their server host on these hops and they can reach out to them. If it weren't for that being the case I would have never asked them to take responsibility. As a provider it is your responsibility to contact that server host to find out why your customers are losing packets or dropping, so yes it is reasonable to expect this in the current circumstance.
